Ruth Region Game 1

Murderer's Row is too much for Curt Schilling in Game 1, who goes the distance but allows 5 runs. Meusel and Gehrig homer for the Yanks in a 5-4 win.

Pitching for the 04 Sox, Schilling does much better, allowing 2 runs over 7 2/3 in a 4-2 win. A bases loaded HBP, walk and single gave Boston a 4-0 lead in the 6th and they would hold on for a 4-2 win

Lester throws a 4 hit shutout as the 16 Cubs blank the 1908 Pirates 8-0. Addison Russell had 3 RBI, proving once again it that the Chicago Cubs will not tolerate someone making an "OK" sign but are absolutely fine having a woman beater in the lineup.

The 93 Giants beat the 53 Dodgers 11-10. The Giants rallied for 5 runs in the 7th and 8th, taking the lead on a Barry Bonds 2 run homer in the 8th. Rod Beck retired the Dodgers in order in the 9th for the save.

Raffy's Roids Region

The 92 Blue Jays lay the smackdown on the 99 Rangers 13-2. Alomar and Olerud homer for Toronto and Cone gets the win.

Dave Stewart tossed a 4 hit shutout and the A's beat the Pirates 8-0. Ricky Henderson homered for the A's.

In a 2nd round matchup caused by a busted bracket, the 11 seed 1980 Phillies beat the 14 seed 1982 Angels 5-2. Greg Luzinski homered for Philly and Carlton went the distance

In a wild matchup the 48 Indians beat the 42 Cardinals 9-7 in 10 innings. The Indians had a 3 run rally in the top of the 9th to take a 7-6 lead. The Cardinals tied it in the bottom of the inning on a Stan Musial triple but Stan was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a sac fly for the 3rd out of the inning. Cleveland would take the lead in the 10th on singles by Ken Keltner and Joe Gordon and the Cards went in order in the bottom of the 10th.

Wait, why? Aren't Berrios, Odorizzi, Pineda all better? (and arguably Dobnak, but I can understand if he is not used with his low IP totals)

Pineda is below Gibson on the website, I'm just going in order for the first four games and then making decisions how I think managers would in the same situation. For instance with Arizona down 3-0, Schilling and if needed Johnson will go on short rest the next 2 days
