Javier Baez: fractured thumb. Awaiting timetable
Michael Pineda: 60 game suspension for taking a banned substance
Those are the two I saw today, but we can use this as a running tally.
Im going to vote Pineda obviously out the 60 games. Baez with a fractured thumb is clearly out, but tough to say how long at this point. We'll need more information, but he should be deactivated after this weekend.

Pineda is pretty easy. I'd say Baez is out until he plays in a game again

Pineda there's no vote necessary. He's out. We follow MLB suspension rules.

More detail on Baez, which may make things difficult for our decision:
Javier Baez is not expected to return before the end of the regular season after a hand specialist confirmed that he has a hairline fracture in his left thumb.
The good news is that nothing is wrong with Baez's ulnar collateral ligament and he will continue rehabbing with the hope of playing at some point in the postseason (should the Cubs make it). Still, obviously Baez's fantasy owners will not have the star shortstop for the stretch run, which is a bummer. With Addison Russell's (head) status also up in the air, the Cubs called up Nico Hoerner to play shortstop Monday.

Baez is not physically able to play now or he would be. IMO he is not eligible in the IBC until and unless he plays again.

I think we all agree on that. If the Cubs don't make the playoffs will be the issue.

No issue as far as I am concerned ... he is ineligible in IBC until he plays again.

I imagine no disagreement on Yelich out for the year as well. Just posting here what I see in terms of long term injuries.

Well, down goes Trout:
https://www.rotoworld.com/baseball/mlb/ ... es/9231311
Mike Trout will undergo season-ending surgery later this week to remove the neuroma from his right foot.
Well, that's a major bummer. Trout had hoped to return Sunday after missing over a week of action, but he tested things out with some pregame activities and still was feeling pain in the foot. He was then examined again and surgery was recommended. More information regarding Trout's timetable will be available after the operation, but he's not going to make it back this season. Trout will finish the season with a .291/.438/.645 batting line, 45 home runs, 104 RBI, 110 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. He remains the likely American League MVP even after missing most of September.

Thoughts?
David Price (wrist) has been shutdown for the remainder of the 2019 season.
This became likely on Tuesday, and it's now official. Price will also meet with a hand specialist to determine whether or not an operation is necessary. The southpaw has been dealing with a triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) cyst in his left wrist, and he is still struggling to throw breaking balls without pain. His year ends with a 4.28 ERA and 128/32 K/BB ratio over 107 1/3 innings for the Red Sox. He's owed $32 million for each of the next three seasons, so he's not going anywhere.

Red Sox are done. I don't see anything really there to warrant shutting him down in IBC, unless he goes under the knife.

Baez played yesterday ... albeit as a pinch runner (and scored) but he played.

I think he has to show he can do something other than run. He obviously can't be used to hit or in the field or the Cubs would be playing him

I disagree. I think if Baez appeared in a game, he should be eligible to play. I think we get into a very slippery slope when we start saying what a player can and can't do.
Yeah, it's clear he can't swing, but the Cubs still played him.

My Original position was he is out until he physically plays ... He has appeared at least two games recently and therefore I believe a IBC eligible.

Yeah he can play now
