Exco has discussed several mortally wounded player situations and made determinations on the following:

Clay Buchholz has been shut down for the remainder of the MLB season and is therefore ineligible for the remainder of the 2018 IBC season.

Pedro Strop has been ruled out for the remainder of the MLB regular season and therefore should be farmed for the remainder of the 2018 IBC regular season. Postseason eligibility will be determined based on MLB playoff eligibility.

Injury determinations go into effect immediately.

But would he pitch through it if the Tigers were in contention? I joke - but I wonder if this is considered when ruling players ineligible.

We do take into consideration that during exco discussion. With something like a full torn meniscus...he wouldn't be pitching regardless of his team's success. Same with in-contention teams who have shut down players for the year -- obviously it's a big injury. Other players are being shut down as precaution or because the team isn't in contention, but they want the player to get the surgery now. We look at all those scenarios.

Not injury related, but will post here anyway.
Addison Russell is to be farmed in IBC as long as he is on administrative leave by MLB.

What Pat said. We always try to give the player the benefit of the doubt. In this instance, it's clear he is incapable of playing.
