Mets sign Jose Garcia
Mets sign Jose Garcia
Garcia missed the entire 2007 season following "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow. He made his Major League debut with Florida in 2006 and had no decisions and a 4.91 ERA in five relief appearances. A native of the Dominican Republic, Garcia was originally signed by Florida as a non-drafted free agent on July 3, 2001. He has a 25-21 record, three saves and a 2.37 ERA in 75 career minor league appearances, including 55 starts. The 22-year old right-hander has 416 strikeouts and 89 walks in 375.2 career minor league innings.

Re: Angels release Blake Hawksworth
So now that you've released Hawksworth and Alberto Gonzalez, your official haul for Schilling is Michael Bourn.Angels wrote:Angels release Blake Hawksworth

Thats pretty good Shawn. At the time of trade, Hawksworth was becoming a top prospect with the Cards again. His upside alone was worth it. Micheal Bourn looks every bit like he will be a productive outfielder, while not much can be said for Gonzalez. I still dont think I made a bad deal getting Hawksworth and Bourn for him while other teams werent offering anything at all.
I stand by that deal 100%.
