It's HR Pool time!

The place to come to talk about all things IBC related. Or not IBC related. Just keep it reasonably respectful.

Now that we're at the All-Star Break, an update from HR Pool Land, where our very own Stephen D'Esterhazy is leading IBCers and currently in the HR Pool money.

The following is a list with each player's best list. The leader is currently at 151:

Stephen D'Esterhazy: 136
Nate Hunter: 122
Pat Gillespie: 121
Nick Perry: 120
Jason Bornas: 120
Pat Bishop: 113
Jim Berger: 103
Aaron Dorman: 95

As you can see, it's currently a one-man race to the top. Stephen has been led by Giancarlo Stanton and Todd Frazier, with 25 from JD Martinez on the wildcard list. Some increased activity by Cutch and Kyle Seager would go a long way for Stephen. He's currently in 13th,

My wild cards having 21 homers combined has kind of killed me. But I always suck at this

Well I have to try to win something this year besides the first overall pick in next year's draft. But yea, for a bit I had two lists side by side that were challenging for money slots, but I think I have a good chance if the people that are supposed to be hitting the HRs finally pick up the pace.

Stretch run update:

The HR Pool had an odd breakdown this year after the Commish moved from Illinois to Florida and somehow managed to forget his computer in the move...or left it temporarily or something. Anyway, the site wasn't updated for about a month. At the time, the IBC season-long leader Stephen D'Esterhazy was in the money. Now, he's battling to get back in. The IBC three-year streak of cashing is questionable. The leader has a huge lead at 224.

Stephen D'Esterhazy: 198
Nate Hunter: 196
Pat Gillespie: 194
Jason Bornas: 183
Pat Bishop: 174
Nick Perry: 173
Jim Berger: 165
Aaron Dorman: 147

HR Pool historically pays 20 spots. It looks like #20 is 202 home runs right now, so there may be some room for you and Stephen to sneak in if things break right. I'm a longshot at best.

Fucking Stanton being hurt, 2 months and likely 10 HRs lost because of it.

Stephen D'Esterhazy: 217
Jason Bornas: 207
Pat Bishop: 199
Nick Perry: 193
Jim Berger: 185
Aaron Dorman: 174

231 was the cutoff for money, so we were close-ish

If a healthy guy fails, that is on me for not reading pre-season signs, I can't predict injuries, I know I can't, see Taillon and Bundy.

They're not done, but I'm done participating. Apparently, the guy who has run it for years no longer wants to or is sick...not really sure. Some of the other original organizers attempted to try to use the guy's computer to use whatever software he uses and they couldn't access it. So, they've upped the entry fee to $25 a sheet and I guess they'll update the numbers manually. Their theory is the money will still be a good size, but without as much labor. I'll jump back in once they figure out how to do this with more efficiency.

But they haven't even updated the site yet.
