Adrian Gonzalez for Buchholz, Ellsbury and Lars Anderson

It wont happen, unless they plan on dropping Papi from the lineup.

Papi is not going to stand in the way of the Sox getting Gonzalez.

and then what? You pay Papi 12.5mil for the next 2 years to ride the pine? Gonzalez would be a nice fit for the lineup and an upgrade, but pieces need to be moved elsewhere first for them to even think about it.

2011 is a club option that will almost certainly not be picked up.
So for 2010 you try to see if you can deal him someplace or you work out a platoon. Ortiz isn't the bat he once was, his skills are degrading fast and it's a huge question as to how much value he'll have this season

They can do whatever the hell they want with Big Papi, but Adrian Gonzalez at $5 mil per year is too hard to pass up on to let Papi affect what you do. Personally I'd put him down like 'Ole Yeller.

Noooo, don't tell me they put Old Yeller down. Now I know why I wasn't able to watch the end.

Actually, I don't think Papi is off the juice any more than I think Manny, A-Rod or any of the others are. The juice delayed his breakdown, it can't prevent it entirely.
