As Google says it's now 12:00 pm EST, waiver claims are now being processed.

So everyone does a public waiver claim but John...........nice. Bullshit.

John's on vacation with limited access. When he left I wasn't sure how I was going to handle waivers, so I told him to email me his list. I decided when to post it, not him, so if you're going to throw shit, then direct it towards me.

It doesn't matter which way it's directed. The fact that we use an open process is ridiculous. When doing the research on who is available and may represent a good find the last thing any of us should want to do is post it for all to see. If I and several others knew there was an option to send the list in instead of posting it I am sure we would have taken that option. It doesn't really affect me that much because I waited until the last minute, but those that post early get the short end.

JP tells me this looks correct, so I'll have it input shortly.

There's not a lot of research that goes into this. You look at the free agent list and dissect a few numbers. It isn't a painstaking task.

Please don't sign your players, I'll be inputting them.

In the future I do think that we need to submit them privately to Shawn or something. No reason to have posturing be a big part of this. We should move to that for next year.

It's already in the works. Just didn't have time this year.

I don't disagree with that.

I just disagree with the "research" argument, but in the future I think we should make this either into a draft (which it basically is anyway) or private in some form.

Especially since all you really have to do is look at the first couple of claim lists posted............fix it for next year, on to this season.

If directed towards me, none of the players I claimed were even mentioned by anybody else.

If not, then I guess it proves that doing your own "research" and not monkey-see monkey-do pays off. Regardless there will be a different system next year. It's typically no secret who the big simmers are anyway, and I'm pretty sure that's one of the first things people look for when they even get the database.

It wasn't directed at anyone in particular. I was just pointing out it could be done that way. I'm done with this thread, it seems to be taking a bad turn.

It could, and it will be fixed for next year in some capacity.

That was a pretty low shot to take since it doesn't look like anyone actually did that.
I'm with JP on this 'research' it's pitcher splits and batter splits, both of which are available easily from the d-base. That's like calling goign to Wikipedia research.

Just a heads up - people may want to double check their rosters. I lost someone (Chris Lubanski) during the waivers processed that wasn't dropped. Everything else on the roster looks good though....

Fixed. That was not related to waivers, but rather a result of converting the projection disk into OOPSS.

Ahh kk - I just figured it was waivers due to the fact that it happened around the time they closed/were processed today. He was on my roster when I was going through my roster this morning.
