For the record - I still think it really sucks that whomever is at their computer at 9:30am EST has an advantage to ZiPS signings. I know some projections get released early, and blah blah blah - but I think it is definitely a biased system.Tigers wrote:Need a ruling from the line judge!Phillies wrote:Phillies sign Michael Broadway
Yea, adding in some kind of a waiver system might be something good for the ExCo to discuss.Mets wrote:For the record - I still think it really sucks that whomever is at their computer at 9:30am EST has an advantage to ZiPS signings. Totally with you John, we used to have a signing freeze when projections came out to avoid this exact issue. If anyone has suggestions on how to fix that'd be great.Mets wrote:For the record - I still think it really sucks that whomever is at their computer at 9:30am EST has an advantage to ZiPS signings. While I have certainly benefited from being at the computer at the right time, I would agree that it is an unfair system.Mets wrote:For the record - I still think it really sucks that whomever is at their computer at 9:30am EST has an advantage to ZiPS signings. I agree as well, but how long would the waivers last? Would it be team-by-team -- i.e., all Giants players from 9-5 today would be on waivers?Dodgers wrote:Totally with you John, we used to have a signing freeze when projections came out to avoid this exact issue. Pat wins (first post is first one processed). Updating Broadway to on Tigers.
In BCMBL we due a true 24 hours from the timestamp of the ZiPS posting - not perfect, but gives everyone an opportunity to check out the internet at some point over a 24 hour period.Pirates wrote:I agree as well, but how long would the waivers last? Just for the players in that organization/on that ZiPS list, or for all players? The latter seems unnecessary.Mets wrote:In BCMBL we due a true 24 hours from the timestamp of the ZiPS posting - not perfect, but gives everyone an opportunity to check out the internet at some point over a 24 hour period.Pirates wrote:I agree as well, but how long would the waivers last? Remember this moment when inOctober Mike Broadway "Joe" shuts down Donaldson, Freeman and McCutchen in order in the 7th inning of game 7 of the IBC World SeriesDodgers wrote:

Just for the team whose ZipS was posted that day ... not perfect as some players numbers are released in chats, articles, e-mails, etc. but more fair then our current system.Pirates wrote:Just for the players in that organization/on that ZiPS list, or for all players?
