Official "Out of Town thread"

Got a neat combination Christmas/55th Birthday present from my wife, Patti, and 3 of my close White Sox buddies ... flying out to Spring training at the end of March for 5.5 days to see 7 games (5 are the Pale Hose and 2 are NL games).

I don't have a Blackberry or any kind of minicomputer phone so my contact may be limited most of that last week of March ... but when I return I will probably have one of best tans in Maine!

I'm not going out of town but I'll be in full lock down taking care of baby/toddler mode for a few months. My second son Jake was born Friday morning, weighing in at 6 lb, 15 oz and 20-12 inches long. His big brother Luke (2 yr. old) is in for a rude awakening when Mom and baby come home tomorrow. Keep pming me, I will get back to you eventually.

I'm going to be somewhat incommunicado for the next two weeks...Oklahoma City for a conference and then buckling down for a qualifying exam that WILL kill me, pass or fail. Never go to grad school. Never f*ing ever.

I have arrived in CA, but still unpacking and settling in. I still haven't signed up for any internet service yet, but hope to soon. Hopefully I don't have any injury violations, as this is my first time online since last Sunday. E-mail is still the best way to reach me.

I'll be heading to Kelowna, BC on Wednesday morning and will be out of contact tell Sunday night. Going to be golf, booze, golf, booze, golf and more booze.

On Saturday going to be playing the Bear Course at the Okanagan Club.......assuming I survive the first three days. Good times!

I will be leaving this Saturday to drive with my wife and 4 daughters to Illinois. Sunday I will be running a half marathon in Hampton, NH and then we will stay in PA that evening arriving in Springfield IL Monday evening. Visiting my wife's family and friends leaving IL Sunday morning; overnight in Erie PA and returning to ME Monday (2/27). Hope to be able to check the PC at least daily but time will be limited and sporadic.

Some years ago I was at Marco Island so I went up to Fort Myers to go to the Texas Rangers ST camp. I managed to see first hand how big of asses JuanGone and Pudge were.

I'll be leaving this evening for Moab to do a 100 mile ultramarathon. I'll have my smartphone, but as it's Moab, I'm not counting on having any access. Back to civilization on Sunday night.
