Clemens - A dirtier bastard than I ever believed

Post by Royals »

As much as I despised Clemens for betraying Sox fans and going to the Yankees, those times when rumors popped up in discussions about Clemens using PED's, I generally defended him.
I should have known better.
Clemens was fingered in the Mitchell report by his former personal trainer, McNamee. According to McNamee, Clemens started using (to his knowledge) once he came to Toronto (hmmm, twilight of his career?). McNamee went on to point the finger at several other players, including Rogers little lefty acolyte, Andy Pettitte.
Clemens, of course, denies everything and there have even been rumors that he'd return to pitch another year as a sort of challenge of them:
According to Newsday, two people familiar with Roger Clemens' thinking fully anticipate that he will pitch again in 2008.
"I really don't think this would deter him from playing," one person said, on the condition of anonymity. "He might think it would change the public opinion on him further. People would think, 'Why would he come back and put up with all of this abuse if he did it?'" Newsday believes Clemens would prefer to finish his career with the Red Sox, though he had that opportunity last season and didn't take it. If he does pitch again, we're guessing it'd be with the Astros.
Well Roger, I hate to tell you this, but your dear little buddy, Andy Pettitte, blasted a HUGE hole in your credibility on this issue when he admitted that the allegations against him are true!
Andy Pettitte admitted Saturday to using HGH on two occasions back in 2002.
"If what I did was an error in judgment on my part, I apologize," Pettitte said in a statement released by his agent. "I accept responsibility for those two days." Pettitte is admitting that former trainer Brian McNamee's statements in the Mitchell Report were accurate, even though he must know he's burying good friend Roger Clemens in the process. If McNamee was telling the truth about Pettitte's usage, then why should anyone believe he's lying about personally injecting Clemens with steroids?
Roger, you're screwed.
