I Am Legend

Post by DBacks »

My Friday Night was spent at the cinema, as per usual, and this is the highlight of the films we caught last night. If you're not a Will Smith fan, don't see it, as it's him and pretty much only him for two hours. He does a brilliant job sucking you into his solitary world, and you really don't notice that you're not watching anyone but him.

The effects are brilliant. The shots of NYC will leave you asking yourself "how did they do that?" It looks incredible. The plot is a strange mix of 28 Days Later, Signs, Land of the Dead, and The Last Man on Earth, of which this is a remake.

The movie also a features a fairly strong performance from a dog. Its weird, but the canine is suprisingly strong and effective in its supporting role. You never once look at it and think its being coached just off camera by some trainer. The dog seems legit in everything it does. You gotta appreciate that. How many animals are decent actors?

Judging by the crowd Friday Night I would expect over a 50 Mil opening this weekend, and its deserved. If you got time, check it out, its worth the money. And its thrilling nature will have the girl beside you jumping and shreiking the whole time.
