Released minor leaguers

Post by Guardians »

In yet another odd twist for 2020, MLB teams are releasing dozens of players. Some of these players have zips projections. Our rules state you have to be on a team to play in the IBC. How do we want to handle?

If you were signed by the start of the year, you play (like if you were supposed to play but were hurt-ish you play)?

Or, if you're cut, you can't play?

I opt for the former, but figured I would open to discussion.

Let them play the remainder of this IBC season unless/until a player signs with an overseas team ...

Yeah that's good with me.

I don't know how many of our players are affected, it's not too different from the spring cuts that happen every year. But since there are no games, nobody is signing these players as org depth. Doesn't seem right to have them ineligible in the IBC currently.

Good with me. Up to you JP if you think it's worth a post.
