New Tigers block

Post by Guardians »

Freshening up the prior block somewhat.

Not really looking for this-year upgrades unless we're talking top-tier sim value. Otherwise, just looking to improve the farm. Wouldn't mind some gambles on injured, high-upside guys or better picks.

Picks:
DET 1
DET 2
DET 3
DET 4
DET 5

Prospects:
Ryan Borucki 10.16 k/9, 2.65 bb/9, 2.60 fip, lefty in A+ Just got up to AA 14 IP 11K/3BB 0.64 ERA

Franklyn Kilome 7.80 k/9, 3.36 k/9, 2.66 ERA, A+

Jonathan Hernandez 8.5+ k/9, 3 bb/9, 3.50 fip A/A+ (Futures Game)

Dakota Hudson 2016 pick already at AAA, 4 pitch mix. 2.63 ERA, 6.5/2.5 k/9

Pros:
Albert Almora MLBer at age 23. Rookie year slashing .276/.342/.388 so far as the Cubs CF. 17/4 k/bb rate. VG sim defense

Tanner Roark. 2+ win projection and a solid source of innings eating and low ERA in most years. Struggling in 2017 per his standards, but still at 1.5 fWAR at this point, likely en route to 2-ish fWAR for the year. Positive FIP, low HR rate.

Shin-Soo Choo. Having a bit of a resurgence in Texas in 2017, hitting .255/.371/.408 14 HR 51 RBI 9 SB with 14/19% k/bb ratio. Solid lefty sim bat (VG power) who can play LF/RF or be a good DH.

Been on vacation for the last week and saw there was a little flurry of activity. Honestly, I can't complain. I spent every morning sitting on the beach. However, back to reality, which means working out some trades. The above prospects and picks are available. Also still have an abundance of outfielders (Almora, Choo, Pillar, Ramirez, Brantley) I'd like to move for young SP depth/prospects. Maybe could also use a backup catcher with Perez on the shelf. Always willing to get creative.
