Well where to start.... I'm a soon to be 45yo born and raised Cardinal fan from small Illinois town outside of St Louis. Played little league through high school. I worked in Minor League Baseball when I was 21 for a team in Wisconsin that was affiliated with the Oakland A's so they have kind of become my adopted AL team. Favorite player growing up of course Ozzie Smith is in the mix, but I always loved Terry Pendleton and Tony Pena. I've been playing Fantasy baseball long enough to remember entering stats from the Wednesday edition of USA Today on a program we had before it was all online haha! I've enjoyed playing fantasy but always wanted something deeper and more involved. (My fantasy pet peeve is people that draft teams and then bail on the league). I could go on and on about the greatest game invented (I have stories of kicking Nates butt in MLB on PlayStation from way back too haha)
Anyway I appreciate the consideration and you taking the time to get back with me.
Best regards,
Matt

Nate suggested a guy named Matt Kratky to me. Here's what he had to say:

1. I use Baseball Reference for stats, and would use baseballamerica.com and baseballprospectus.com for scouting
2. I will admit outside of the Cards organization my prospect knowledge would need work. Other than the obvious top 30 overall players.
3. This I'm unsure based on what it would require. I spend about 2 hours a day on the teams I have now(and theres nothing to do once the lineup is set!?!? haha), and hopefully I will replace fantasy teams with this going forward
4. Greatly. Fantasy just uses the current MLB rosters and stats as you know. I'm confident I could roll out of bed and draft a winning team. This is much more in depth, takes more preparation, and more attention to it. I think of it like this, fantasy is kind of a kids game, this would be more like the adult game, if that makes sense.
Nate sent me a link to a youtube video that described it. I've watched it a few times and it makes total sense. This is a thinking mans game, just like baseball
