RedSox Offseason Block

Post by RedSox »

I've got seven picks in the draft and would like to consolidate/upgrade to just five picks. The players below are available for picks or with picks to upgrade draft position.

SP Campos, Vicente - 24 yo, FIPs A+- 3.39, AA - 2.78, AAA - 3.45, Broken elbow. 8 month recovery from Sept. MLB AZ#3

OF Guyer, Brandon - Last 3 years = 105, 120, 122 wRC+. LF/CF/RF

SS Hernandez, Marco - 24 yo, 126 wRC+ at AAA, 97 wRC+ MLB, Lefty 2B/3B/SS

C Higashioka, Kyle - http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ym ... d&sid=milb

SP Karns, Nate - 28 yo, 97 FIP-

SP Mills, Alec - 24 yo, FIP AA 2.13, got a little homer prone in AAA, but I think he figures it out next year. Fastball averaged 91.9 mph in 3.1 MLB innings. ERA+ was 94 this year. 96+ might not be out of the question as ZiPS loves low walk rates and Mills went 1.60 and 2.95BB/9. MLB KC #8

OF Olson, Matt - 22 yo. Three true outcome guy never quite got going in first taste of AAA. BABIP was down but power numbers and K rate were similar to AA. MLB OAK #15

Pick 1, RedSox Draft, (#6)

Pick 2, Nationals Draft, (#48 )

Pick 2, RedSox Draft, (#36)

Pick 3, Reds Draft, (#81)

Pick 3, RedSox Draft, (#66)

Pick 4, RedSox Draft, (#96)

Pick 5, RedSox Draft, (#126)

OF Smith, Mallex - 23 yo. Likely VG at all OF positions, 84ish OPS+.

RP Treinen, Blake - 118+ 2016 sim. Beat both ERA and FIP in 2016. 3.33 GB/FB, 95.4 mph FB. Legit setup option next year.

RF Williamson, Mac - 26 yo. 107+ AAA, 100+ MLB

SP 14-Alcala, Jorge - Not ranked but mentioned in chats for both levels he pitched at in 2016 with one saying he could be next years Albert Abreu/Paulino/Martes. Sub 1 WHIPs, 9.0 and 14.1 K/9, 5.5 H/9, 2.97 BB/9.

OF 14-Florial, Estevan - APPY #3 prospect. Plus tools abound. Played in FSL and APPY in first stateside action. He's not Robles but ceiling is enticing.

OF 14-Hill, Tyler - NYPL #15. NYPL MVP. 166 wRC+.

SP 14-Taylor, Josh - NDFA LHP. A+ 3.98 FIP, AA 3.63 FIP. MLB AZ #25

SP 14-Woodruff, Brandon - #16 FSL, #16 SOU. 2.51 & 2.49 FIP, nearly 10 K/9, 2 BB/9, sub .5 HR/9 MiLB leader in K's. MLB MIL #25

CF 15-Duggar, Steven - 130 A+ & 131 AA wRC+ in first full MiLB year. Legit CF with 3 + tools. Riser could be in BA Giants top 10. MLB SF #10

SP 15-Hicks, Jordan - #5 APPY, #10 NYPL. Pop up guy in the right system for developing pitchers.

SP 15-Perez, Freicer - 6'8" 20 yo. Sits mid 90's and could still add 40 pounds. Slider is inconsistent but a good guy to take a flyer on. NY skipped him over 2 levels from DSL to NYPL. MLB NYY #29

SP 15-Ponce, Cody - Big body second rounder. 3.21 FIP in first full season at A+. 8.63 K/9, 2.1 BB/9, 6.5 H/9 MLB MIL #10

CF 15-Stevenson, Andrew - Slash and go CF. 115 wRC+ at A+. Already plays + CF D. Maybe he's Michael Bourn down the line. MLB WAS #8

CF 0-Basabe, Luis Alexander - SAL #9. CF. Write up says average hitter, above average power, speed and D. MLB BOS #8

C 0-Mercedes, Yermin - 181 wRC+ A, 150 wRC+ A+. CS% was over 30.

SP 0-Palumbo, Joe - #20 NYPL. From the write up: "Palumbo has three average or better pitches in his 90-94 mph fastball that touches 96, a plus curveball and a potentially average changeup." MLB TEX #29

CF 11-Cordero, Franchy - #17 CAL, #14 TEX. Move to CF allowed Cordero to jump through 3 levels in 2016.

LF 11-Santander, Anthony - #16 CAR. 137 wRC+. 42 2B, 20 HR, 10 SB. 21 yo MLB CLE #30

2B 13-Demeritte, Travis - #8 CAL, #19 CAR. Boom or bust. Big power. Big K rate. Looked good at 2B. MLB ATL #9
