So who is left that was around from the original draft in 2002? Me, Andrew, Nick, JB, Nate, Nils, anyone else?

I think you're leaving out one of the biggest figures from the early days of the IBC who's still in the league...

Lol...does Bren count?
I started, I believe, toward the end of that first season. But I didn't draft.

In honor of Chrash (if I'm remembering the story correctly) shouldn't we be referring to the Padres GM as Brony?

The message board is pure comedy gold. I joined at the end of April that year. My teams original GM Loaded up on offense, Dave Burba was my ace. I rolled back through a 1000 messages last night while watching the Cubs pen try to blow another game. I almost forgot how argumentative Rich could be, how fucking merciless Rich and Z were about Chris Nelson, what a potty mouth JP had, Rich'a wife and JP's Mom jokes - all good stuff. Would've been nice if Josh's posts hadn't been deleted after he quit/ got the boot.

That's some dedication/lack of a Friday night there, Pat. Yes, Rich was an asshole many times and also a professional, never wrong pitching coach/scout based on his little league coaching experience.

The young college age group and the high school group in the early years made for many harsh testosterone-driven comments and also many hilarious moments. A lot of those came at the expense of Bren.

I was chuckling about how hard other teams were pimping terrible prospects and huge busts back then, until I got to the part where the IBC Orioles won't shut up about future franchise cornerstones Joel Guzman and Adam Miller. Not laughing.

It'd be cool if Geocities still existed and the old team sites were still up somehow. I wasted a ridiculously large amount of time back then updating and fine-tuning my team site with player pictures and logos and shit.

2023 GM Totals: 1780 W - 1460 L | 0.549 wpct | 89-73 (avg 162 G record)

Many of us did. I didn't do a ton of logos, but I did my fair share of maintenance. It was tough when teams didn't update their pages since there was no site like we have now and if you didn't have the sim, you were flying a little blind. That's how Bren/Nils got such a good team early on...they had all the projections. Jerks!

I had my Oregon Ducks geocities page, as JP always called it. It wasn't until I got the sim in the winter of 2006 from Gabe that I actually understood how everything worked. Then back to back World Series. Then Dan started doing the projection disks and I haven't been back. Stupid DMB

It's an exciting life I lead these days. My wife was in bed sick, the kids were asleep, the Cubs pen was their normal excruciatingly awful, what else did I have to do?

I kinda miss the midget/dictator jokes.
