Chad Gaudin

Post by Cardinals »

Hamlin signed him and asked if he can use him. He's not officially on a DL. He's been assigned to extended spring training, but he's not pitching, I don't believe:

Chad Gaudin (arm) will begin the season in extended spring training.
Gaudin has been shut down with a nerve injury in his neck that's caused his fingers to tingle. In addition to the neck injury, he also has been battling arm soreness. He'll continue to rest in Arizona until doctors clear him for baseball activities. Mar 31 - 2:34 PM

That's the last rotoworld update, and last Google News item.

I'd say no, he can't pitch for us.

I also did some checking and could not find any indication that he has even been cleared for "baseball activities" yet ... he should be considered DL'd in the IBC.

Seems like he's ineligible, based on the information given.
