My family had a condo for awhile in Manchester, VT, so I grew up skiing at Bromley. I go there, Killington, Stratton and Mount Snow if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to drive the extra 30-45 minutes. I've been to most of the major mountains at one point or another though.
Haystack used to be really cool, and now it's a stupid country club or whatever.

Oh man I haven't gone skiing in forever, but Bromley brings back some memories for me. Can't believe I lived out in SF for 3 years and never went to Tahoe. Not once. What a jackass. The only skiing I've ever known is steep, icy, tree-stump-in-the-trail New England-style.
I went to a shit-ton of NE mountains as a kid but have only gone skiing a few times since HS. In VT I mostly went to Okemo, Killington and Sugarbush. Also Bromley, Mt. Snow, Stratton, Ascutney, Suicide Six, Stowe and Pico in the Green Mtns. Gunstock, Dartmouth Skiway and the Balsams in the Whites. However, my go-to spots made their home in the hideous, sloppy, red-headed stepchild of other NE mountain ranges, the Berkshires.
Ski Sundown (90% of the time - Gun Barrel, Stinger, Night skiing! Great times), Mt. Tom, Butternut, Mohawk and (shudder) Southington. I'd like to bring a west-coaster to rip up the Berkshires with me some time so I can witness their horror at discovering people would still do this sport for fun in such abysmal conditions.
Don't think I've ever been to Maine, but always heard Sugarloaf was the best mountain in the northeast.

This thread reminds me... I'm no longer in Michigan, but there are plenty of good beers in North Carolina if anybody needs me to send them some. Hop Drop 'n Roll by NoDa Brewery is one of my favorite IPA's around here. Triple C and Birdsong also make some tasty ones.
