Need a ruling:
Rays manager Joe Maddon said Sunday that Desmond Jennings (knee) is unlikely to return this season.
Jennings hasn't played since August 28 due to left knee discomfort and simply hasn't made any progress. He doesn't have any structural damage, so the outfielder should be fine with some rest and rehab and will have a relatively normal offseason. Kevin Kiermaier will hold down center field for the remainder of the season.

I'm going to be devil's advocate and say that Jennings should be in. If Tampa Bay were in it, I have to believe that with no structural damage, Jennings would find a way to contribute in some capacity. Rehab and rest are prescribed for him. Of course, I'd rather see players play than not play. It's when surgery is involved that I sort of draw my line.

You may be the devil but you are not right on this my friend ... he isn't playing and there is no indication that he would be playing if it were a one and done ... gone.Pirates wrote:I'm going to be devil's advocate and say that Jennings should be in.
