Knew the batteries thing was coming. I can't believe you didn't bring up Santa Claus. That's all we ever hear from out of towners.Orioles wrote:You could be right. Stay classy, Cincinnati

Hey, at least in Oakland they throw quarters at the visiting teams players. They must be feeling rich in the ghettos these days.
I thought about it, but it usually doesn't snow during the baseball season. Unless they'd throw an actual Santa Claus at him, which would be pretty impressive.Phillies wrote:Knew the batteries thing was coming. I can't believe you didn't bring up Santa Claus. I also heard somewhere (ESPN radio I think) that the fan that caught the ball was in some kind of leg/knee brace and had crutches with him?
So Adams reaches into fan territory, pushes down an already visibly injured fan who was completely within the rules, and then walks off in frustration and the fan is the classless one?
I can't believe they didn't do worse? If it was my wife and friends Adams would have already been on the ground and I'd be calling Aaron to borrow bail money. He couldn't make the play, so he turned into a whining little child. I personally don't think its his fault, I think St. Louis puts a clause in all of their contracts that requires their players act that way. But kidding aside, he put his hands on a fan who didn't do anything wrong, so this one's pretty black and white. Adams was wrong, he overreacted, so he'll take his mini-suspension and move on. Completely disagree that the fans were the classless ones though. What were they supposed to do? Sit there quietly?

Holy homer Batman. Here's the first rule of Fight Club: When you go into the stands, don't push a fan.
JP & Aaron, you know I'm a fan of both of you, but finding any justifiable reason (IT WAS BARELY A SHOVE! IT WAS PLAYFUL!) to do what Adams did is rationalizing the irrational. It was comically stupid.
However, anyone over the age of 15 that wears a glove should get shoved by someone. Just not a player.

I never said he should have done it or that it was smart.Nationals wrote:Holy homer Batman. Here's the first rule of Fight Club: When you go into the stands, don't push a fan.

Can we all just agree that Adams shouldn't have put his hand on a fan, whatever his intentions? And that the fan shouldn't have flipped the bird at a player?
Can we all agree that this is really much ado about nothing?
Looking forward to the game today. The first series was championship quality baseball to start the year. Great games. This incident was stupid, and the reactions of some to it, even more so.
