Proposal - Trading
In the spirit of ExCo fellowship and compromise which has been somewhat lacking of late, I have a proposal.
My proposal is that we start allowing Sept/Oct trading as of October 1st this year. The regular season will be over, which satisfies my personal perspective on the issue and we get trading sooner and before picks become tradeable, which most of us want.
Thoughts?
I hope too that this will set a precedent for situations in the future where both sides (be it ExCo or league-wide) are adamant in their opinions, rather than repeating themselves or disparaging one side or another opinions, we can find some ground partway in the middle.

Paragraph 1 works for me.RedSox wrote:In the spirit of ExCo fellowship and compromise which has been somewhat lacking of late, I have a proposal.

Paragraph 3 will too - if it happens ...

Generally speaking, I like the continuity of the trading deadline on August 31 only affecting the DB and subsequently September and playoff active rosters. So I like the idea, beyond this season, of having trading in September as well.Dodgers wrote:I'd almost go so far as to propose Sept/Oct trading being turned into October trading...but that might push JP off a cliff or something. This sounds good to me.
But I do feel like allowing it in October, when most of the league is dead, would be the larger impact and provide the most positive benefit. And that makes for a really good compromise for this season.
Good, I just wanted to make sure. Plus I'm tired and had a beer or two...Tigers wrote:That's how I took it. I just wanted to specify in response to what Shawn said.RedSox wrote:Perhaps I wasn't being as clear as I intended.
my prosposal is meant to be that we would have October trading this season, and Sept/October trading in the future.
