New Simmer needed - Volunteers?

Bren was speaking with total disregard for everyone else in ExCo when he made that post. Brett P is simming the duration of the season.

Not total disregard, I voted in favor of brett doing it. I think limiting our choices to just ExCo members though may result in possible complications. Besides which, it's always nice to know who's willing to do it. So keep those volunteers coming!

Yes it is, but not under the guise that we need them to do the last 2 weeks of the season. That was set before you made this post, so in my opinion, you posted this solely for inflammatory purposes.

Actually, no it wasn't set. The vote wasn't decided yet, as you said yourself, the vote wasn't decided until this morning and I posted last night. I posted it because we had very limited options, the one option we did have involved juggling the database around a lot.
JP installs MPs immediately after the new db comes out, Brett installs them the rest of the week. Brett sims. Brett sends the DB off to Shawn to upload stats since he can't FTP.
Seems a little more complicated than is ideal, no?
When you do that, the opportunity for errors and delays starts slipping in. Thus, opening up the opportunity to a non ExCo member is a logical exploration for the final two weeks.

What exactly is the harm in seeing who is willing to do it?

There is no harm in seeing who is willing to do it.

The facts surrounding the vote is that there were 4 votes and you were the 5th deciding vote, so you either posted and then voted or voted then posted, either way the solution was basically accepted once you saw it.

I have no problem if you had just said we want to find out anyone else who wants to sim. But you made it sound like there wasn't already another solution presented. This combined with your previous posts about simming leads me to think you didn't have the purest of intentions when you made this post.

PLus Jake OK'ed it so there's 5. We have the simming setup for the remainder of this year.

pssst, there are only four votes posted! You didn't have the green light until you got Jake's OK, which you already said elsewhere you got this morning (thus the delay on Boxes).
There was no official decision so I sought another, more practical, option.

That's not what he said. Jake didn't vote until late last night, so I didn't sim until late last night, and Shawn didn't get the DB that I sent him until this morning. Simming happened last night, uploading happened today.

You guys should have a separate forum locked for all but the ex-co where you can have it out before laying down the lizzaw.

I want to be able to "view" the exco discussions... perhaps not be able to post there or whateva, but I think being able to get into the mindset would possibly be beneficial. Sorta like when BA releases their transcript at how they arrived at the top 100 spects... good stuff.

Except Jake DIDN'T vote, he just told you what he thought (at least I presume so since he still hasn't registered a vote in the official poll). How am I supposed to know what he did if he didn't tell me (he didn't) and no one else told me (they didn't)? This is why we have an official poll. I don't have a problem with you acting without the official vote (this time), but don't give me shit about it when there's no way I could have known a decision had been made.

Jake was the lone non-voter after you voted, Brett had not voted, but since he was the main part of the solution it was assumed that he would vote yes. But alas I digress...

The ExCo did have its own forum, until recently when it seemed like when ExCo members didn't get their way they went bitching to the rest of the league. I haven't read the rest of the posts, but I think Bren might have already proposed what I'm going to suggest soon in terms of ExCo transparency.

How about an ExCo alternate in the event that a vote directly affects one of the ExCo's teams in such a way that bias has to be assumed? Perhaps whoever was 4th in the voting?

Ok, one thing that needs to be clarified... I didn't vote. Or didn't believe i had. I went back and checked and apparently I DID vote, though I didn't intend to. That's what's at the root of the misunderstanding between Shawn and I.

We do have contingencies set up for such situations.
