Funny Stuff... Old Boards

This was the original Messageboard for the IBC. many of the teams have moved since then (almost all in fact) and many of the GM's are no longer with us, but I thought it might make for some amusing reading.
Interesting note... 146 posts in the first 3 days of the league.

I don't remember, but I really hated that kid. I think I booted him halfway through April, he drove me up the wall.

Bren didn't do crap in recruiting JP, it was all me. So, if you wanna break down my league contribution like they break down the Bill Walsh coaching tree, it goes like this:

JP who brung in Shawn and Jake and through Jake we got Seth. Gotta include Ryan there as well. We're not counting Matt LeRoy because we don't count useless pussies.

I brought in Gabe and me and him together brung in Kegan, who gave us DT and a year or so of Ricky who was halfway decent

We used to have guys marked that've been here since Day 1. Let me think.

Bren and JB in the ALE
Andrew and Degan in the ALC
Nobody in the ALW

Nils in the NLW
Me and Nate in the NLC
Nick in the NLE

So we've got 8 guys left by my count that have been here since the original draft. Unless Pat Bishop was here but I thought Rich brung him in midway through the first year. But if you look, we've got a ton of guys that were brought in halfway through the first year or before the second year that's still around

I started before the '03 season. My team could not have sucked worse, and I don't think I made one good trade in my first year. As I recall, my three best players were Tim Wakefield, Mike Piazza, and Woody Williams.

Teams with Dave Burba as their Ace... Rickey being Rickey...
Brennan was in the league for Game 1, but not for the draft. Pat didn't start the season with the league, his original team was TB and we had a couple replacement GM's for that team first.
Rich was here for Game 1 but not the draft.
JB was here for Game 1 but not the draft.

I missed the draft and the first month. My rotation when I started was:
Dave Burba
Blake Stein
Chris George
Joe Beimel
Jeff Urban

Their was the one guy who could never trust Bren not to cheat, got pissed when he got kicked out, put a link to gay porn on the board.

Chrash and Joe, the kings of the ridiculous trade offers.

Ahh, the good old days before net nanny and responsibility at work when I could post more regularly.

My original team (or as close as I've been able to get to it). http://www.geocities.com/internationalb ... -orig.html
I only took Dunn because Beckett was nabbed a few picks ahead of me.

me and jp are practically original members. we got here in may of the first year, and our excessive trading (especially JPs) single handedly kept thel eague alive at times.

I believe Pat G was the Astros that season... that explains the arguing with the A's/Josh.
