Torn - Pitt v. Den
Torn - Pitt v. Den
Today the Steelers and Broncos square off and I'm genuinely torn on who to root for.
On the one hand, as a Patriots Fan, I would love for the Pats to face the Broncos in the next round. the broncos are awful and Tebow is even worse. So from that perspective, I need to root for the broncos.
On the other hand, there's Tebowmania. If I didn't live in the Denver area, this wouldn't be much of a factor. But I do and I am sick beyond words of hearing about Tim Tebow. I'm not hating on the guy, he seems like he is as genuinely aww shucks wholesome as the image he presents. He's got great leadership skills. But he's a terrible NFL quarterback and the hype machine around here is making me not want to watch football. I think the Denver area is finally starting to come around and wake up after that impotent 7-3 loss to KC, but it was tempered by 'winning' the division. Getting plastered at home on national television by the Steelers should drive home that point further. So as a Denver area citizen, I've got to root for the Steelers.
In truth, there's no way I'm rooting for the Steelers i this one. They're a dangerous team that I'd prefer not to face in the playoffs. I'll be rooting against the Steelers, but also against Tebow. Let's face it, the Broncos have zero chance in this game, so the stack of chips against Tim Tebow: NFL QB will continue to stack up. On the off chance the Broncos win, I can deal with a little more Tebow-mania for the chance to put the broncos in their place for the second time this season.

As far as the Broncos, I know I don't want another year of Tebowmania, so hopefully he goes 4-25, 50 yards with 4 INTs and we can be done with him. Though I will applaud the Broncos' defense for their stoutness over the last part of the season.

As long as the Steelers or Pats don't get to the Super Bowl I'm fine with any outcome. I feel bad for Houston, with Schaub I think they're the team to beat in the AFC, but hopefully they beat the Bengals, because Cincy sucks, they ain't beat anyone all year. Plus I don't want to have to spend next year watching Bengals games every Sunday
I'd like to see the Bengals win in round one, just to give my friend back in the 'Nati something to be happy for.
"4-25, 50 yards with 4 INTs"
What's really sad is that line is very possible for Tebow. I can't think of a worse starting QB in the NFL right now. You raise a great point Steve about the Denver D, they really haven't gotten the credit they deserve... because of Tebow. Their D has been far more responsible for their successes this season than anyone on the offense.
