Pridie is expected to elect free agency. The 28-year-old batted .231/.309/.370 over 101 games for the Mets this season. He'll be able to catch on somewhere with a minor league deal.

Jason Pridie was my 2nd round pick in the first IBC amateur draft following the 2002 season. He was 18 then

Ha. I was just looking over some of the early drafts of the league and man, there are so many players in the 2002 and 2003 drafts that are no longer around (the most famous of those might be the infamous Maels Fucking Rodriguez...who was picked behind Kaz Matsui and Ryan Wagner--that 2003 draft really went well)

By next year, the story will be he was 7'6", could've played in the NBA, had a 108mph fastball, 80 slider, 80 curve...
