  ... Mark Buehrle has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 18 consecutive starts. That ties a White Sox
  team record. Buehrle has gone 9-3 in that timespan, posting a 2.46 ERA and 1.15 WHIP...
  
  ... Hideki Matsui's .432 average since the All-Star break leads the majors. To go along with his sizzling
  average, Matsui is reaching base at a clip of .481 while slugging .663 since the Midsummer Classic. He's
  notched 12 extra-base hits and 24 RBI in 24 games. He might not finish the season in Oakland, but it's
  looking like he should definitely finish it on your fantasy team.
  
  ... Twins activated 1B Justin Morneau from the 15-day disabled list. Morneau's neck didn't appear to be
  an issue during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester, where he hit .367/.387/.600 over 31 plate
  appearances while tallying one home run, four doubles and eight RBI.
  
  ... Jason Bourgeois went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
  Bourgeois was also responsible for one of the Astros' four caught stealings in the game, which proved
  costly in the 6-5 loss. It was just the fifth time since 1994 that a team was caught stealing four times in
  a game. Bourgeois is 22-for-28 stealing bases in just 63 games this season.
  
  ... Justin Verlander registered his fourth double-digit strikeout game of the season Thursday, punching
  out 10 Indians while allowing three runs on three hits and three walks over seven innings in a 4-3 win. It’s
  just the fourth time over his last 15 starts that Verlander hasn’t gone more than seven innings, but he’s
  registered a quality start in 13 of those outings. The AL Cy Young favorite now boasts a major league-
  leading 17 wins to go along with a pristine 2.35 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 196/41 K/BB ratio over 195 innings.
  He’ll try to keep the good times rolling next week against the Twins.
