H2H/ Simming Schedule/ DL Reminders/ Misc. Information

Post by Cardinals »

It's finally Opening Day 09. About freaking time. Anyway, this is just a reminder of some information that is pretty much standard protocol, but we do have a new GM and I'm sure you guys will be asking questions pertaining to information here in the coming days anyway.

H2H is encouraged as much as possible. However, the database sent out Sunday evening is ONLY to be used for H2H for games from Monday-Thursday. The EXCEPTION is today, since it's opening day, there's not going to be a separate database for the lone Sunday night game. The database sent out THURSDAY afternoon will be used for games from FRIDAY-SUNDAY.

Monday will be the day off from simming again this year. I will send out a database Sunday night, and all of Monday will be available to do whatever, send MP's etc. Tuesday I will sim Monday and Tuesdays games. THE EXCEPTION BEING TOMORROW. I will be simming tomorrow given that it is Opening Day and I have been telling everybody to send MP's for quite a few days.

If you want to H2H and you're not playing me, obviously, that's fine. Just send me a PM, e-mail or IM saying that you DON'T want your series to be skipped. You have until the series ends to complete it as always. And if you send me an IM whether it be on AIM or GChat, please make sure I respond otherwise I may not have received your message.

The DL rule is the same as always. If a player is on the DL in the MLB, he HAS to spend two weeks on the IBC DL.

Also, when you play H2H, please make sure that all "roles" are set to "Human" or "Remote." The one that is most frequently left on is "Run/Throw" which defaults to Computer sometimes. Make sure that this is on Human for you and Remote for your opponent if you are the host.

Whoever the host is of the H2H games has to e-mail the game files to Rosters@ibcleague.com , CC'ing their opponent and the opponent has to agree or whatever.

I think that covers it. Also, as always every year, players playing in Japan are not eligible to play for us here.

And to sound as cliche as possible, play ball.

What of the players that are known to be DL bound but not officially there yet because the teams aren't finalizing rosters until today or tomorrow?

If they weren't officially on the DL yet, they are eligible for this week. They will begin their DL period next week.

I thought we'd always treated the first week more like the final month where guys who were obviously injured (out with TJ surgery), not expected to play for the next two months, as obvious DL's.

Given that most games aren't starting until Monday so some teams aren't finalizing their roster until today or tomorrow it would seem more logical. Otherwise here is the beginning of a list of guys who are obviously out in the MLB but will be able to play the first week of the IBC season because of this opening day technicality.

John Lackey, sp
Ervin Santana, sp
Kelvim Escobar, sp
Dustin McGowan, sp
Casey Janssen, sp
Shaun Marcum, sp
Tom Gordon, cl
Billy Wagner, cl
Joaquin Benoit, cl
Chad Bradford, mr
Jeff Francis, sp

That's a lot of names that could be playin' the first week of the IBC season that shouldn't be.

I could have sworn that those guys were DL'ed already, especially Lackey. Lets treat the first week like that, then, especially if it's how we've done it in the past.

Looking at the Rotoworld injury list, they are still all listed as "out" but not on the DL. Most of their teams aren't finalizing rosters until today.

Same drill as last year. I'll send out a database on Sunday - probably in the morning. I will sim on Monday, April 5th. As you know we usually don't sim on Mondays, but since it's opening day, an exception will be made.

Injuries are to be handled the same way as any other year for opening week too. Just read above for any clarification.

I will, again, send out TWO databases per week. The one sent on Sundays is for H2H usage for Monday - Thursday. I then send out a database on Thursday afternoon, updated with transactions (Yes, that means trades and signings for people who still haven't figured that out) for Friday-Sunday H2H and simming purposes. You can submit MP's as often as you'd like. Just make sure you are sending them to rosters@ibcleague.com. You run the risk of them not being installed if you send them to my other email addresses.

A few more reminders.

The DL is a weekly thing. If a player is DL'ed on a Monday in reality, you don't have to deactivate him until next week. The DL has nothing to do with the database sent out on Thursday.

All players MUST serve two weeks on the IBC DL. There are no exceptions to this.

Also, if you plan on H2H you have to let me know in advance so I know not to sim your games.
