Offseason Agenda and Moves
First off, Bren already kicked off his offseason by announcing the move. ExCo has approved to move Bren to San Diego, Martin to Tampa Bay and Tullar to Boston. Martin and Tullar are fans of the teams they are now going to be, and Bren had been Boston forever and had decent reasons for moving. Ken will be moving his Nationals to Cinci for 2010 as well.
This leaves Washington as the open team. If there are any Nationals fans pipe up or forever hold your peace, but I doubt it. Haven't seen anybody bleeding Nats red white and blue.
With that said, we are looking for a Reds GM and have decided to hold a minidraft IF GM's are interested. If not, then we will hand the roster over to a new GM as is and look over the trades he makes with a greater microscope than others since we haven't handed that much talent to a new member ever. If there is no interest in a minidraft, that's fine, that's the bed you make, but given the amount of talent available from the Reds we will make it an option.

Actually, as many of you know, I'm quite a big Nats fan - having been here when they started, and back again with the new stadium. I also have a massive man-crush on Adam Dunn. I realize I'm a Yankees fan first, so if that knocks me out, so be it - but I also wear a Nats golf hat everywhere I go. I'd love to represent my city...

If Z does in fact move to the Nats, I'd love to take the Royals. As a Twins fan, I've always liked the teams in the AL Central (except the White Sox), and I'm guessing that the Royals are as close as I can get.
Plus, my constitution is too weak to stay in the AL East.

I communicated my interest in the Nats to the ExCo as well. My favorite team is Boston (almost no chance of me ever getting there, but would if it were ever open and I somehow was next in the Sox fan rotation), and originally thought I would be staying in the AL (likely Texas) 2 seasons ago when I moved to FLA. Once I found out my only choice was the NL East, my preference was to take the Nats (then Mets, then Marlins) but was told at the time we had fans of WAS + NY in place so I ended up in teal. Being the Marlins GM has made me actively dislike their crappy stadium and silly colors, so if possible I was hoping to shift w/in the division to my original pref in DC, where I went to college and am currently looking to move/ find a full time gig.

There was no set deadline, but I'd like to know ASAP. We are looking to bring in the new GM within the week (hopefully) and I'd like to be able to get him the rosters he will be drafting from. A few teams have expressed interest to me and if you haven't done so yet I am going to assume you have no interest in drafting.

If we get a couple of teams, I might go in.
While my team is not bad or uncompetitive, and there are some players I'd rather not lose, but moving my team from Colorado to NYM has put me in an uncomfortable position (especially so close to the beginning of the season), and it might not be bad to refresh my roster from scratch.
