The White Sox are considering trading Votto and/or Zimmerman

Post by Padres »

Confident that young talent is on the way in Justin Smoak and Gordon Beckham, the White Sox are considering trading Joey Votto and/or Ryan Zimmerman. However, with Votto's ability to play the OF, Beckham's likely multi-position eligibility and the use of the DH in the majority of the White Sox games, the White Sox do not feel an urgency to trade either player and will only do so if there is a strong feeling that the Pale Hose are filling some future need.

Going into 2010 the White Sox are currently looking at the following lineup:

SP - Jiminez, Danks, Nolasco, Niemann, Parra and either Nippert, Harrison or Arrieta will be the spot SP
RP - Jenks, Howell, Camp, Lindstrom, Coffey, Burton, Kelley
.C - Ramirez, Pina
1B - Votto and/or Smoak
2B - Iwamura
3B - Zimmerman and/or Beckham
SS - Ramirez
OF - Cruz, Reimold, Schierholtz, Hart, Perez
UT - Nix

Certainly on paper the C position is the the shakiest with Armstrong the only other likely C on the roster ...

After a summer of steady company things will be slowing down this week so I will be better able (including more sober) to respond to all inquires.
