Unless I'm missing something here and he had some sort of miraculous early recovery, Steve Garrison probably shouldn't be pitching in the IBC right now.

Steve Garrison is expected to be sidelined through the middle of next season after undergoing rotator cuff surgery.

Garrison is among the Padres' top prospects and the 22-year-old southpaw profiled as a potential mid-rotation starter prior to the injury. He went 7-7 with a 3.82 ERA and 108/37 K/BB ratio in 129 2/3 innings at Double-A this season.

True: Also on San Antonio's disabled list is left-hander Steve Garrison, 22, who was 7-7 with a 3.82 ERA for the Missions last year before encountering arm problems. (4/7/09)

Garrison has to sit out an additional two weeks for whoever signs him when he comes back. Also, Jake H's next penalty will be a month long.
