Yeah I do have an email out to Rowan currently. Waiting to hear back from him, Boyer. Somebody else also emailed me last night, Jim Kenney, who said this:

Thanks for including me in the list of candidates. I believe I can sufficiently address your concerns regarding the ability to take over a less talented team in a tough division, overall knowledge of minor league/amateur players, dedication to the IBC, and SIM experience.
As I stated before, I have 3 seasons of SIM under my belt, 2 in the IYFBL, and 1 in the WIBL. I believe you are still in both of those leagues. The teams I inherited were polar opposites of each other. I took over the Orioles in the IYFBL. The team had weak pitching and some older, power bats. I finished last in my division with the fifth worst record in the league, but made trades and draft picks to start the rebuilding process. The IYFBL sported an amateur draft which it has since dropped. I really enjoyed that aspect of the league, since I love discovering and projecting minor league talent. My favorite pick from that first draft was Chris Davis TEX in the 4th round. He already had an impact on my team in his second year. In the IYBL we could also sign "created" players not already in the SIM. My favorite signings among those players have been Taylor Teagarden and Jhoulys Chacin. So, I really track minor league/amateur players and enjoy building my team through drafting, FA signings, and trades. In my third year in the IYFBL, the Orioles should contend for the playoffs. My patience has paid off.
I took over the Rockies in the WIBL. The roster was fairly talented already, but key FA signings/draft picks to my bullpen, 2B, C, and OF made my team the most successful in the regular season. Unfortunately, I lost in the first round of the playoffs. I've actively pursued trades in the WIBL, looking to make this team my own. I look forward to the next FA draft in this league.
I have been active in both of my SIM leagues as far as responding/making trade offers, participating in live drafts, daily website visits/contributions, weekly MP's, FA pick-ups, and occasional friendly trash talk.
I would enjoy the challenge of the IBC regardless of team/division. I love building a winning team, especially with an amateur draft, and would have the patience to do so in the IBC. I know I can dedicate the time to my team and the league, thus improving the quality of the IBC.

Well JP hasn't heard back from Kenney or Boyer yet, and since its been a couple days and they haven't responded I'm assuming we have 3 candidates to choose from so I'll go ahead and give my 2 cents.

From listening to Rowan brag about his signings of players that never would've been free agents in the IBC in the first place, I've got a gut feeling he won't be up to par. Those guys would never have not been drafted in the IBC. He just sounds like a 4A player to me.

I'm going to back Kegan. I forgot that the last time he was in the league and had to quit, he was still playing soccer as a high school senior and was getting ready to go to Quinnipiac on scholarship and that took up a lot of his time. If he has been keeping up with prospects and stuff like he says then I see no reason not to bring him back. Kegan's been in the league before, last time he left he had put together a pretty good young team, and he knows the innerworkings of the IBC. He'll have to get the sim I'm pretty sure, but I don't see that being a problem. Anything he needs to be caught up to speed on can be taken care of by me and DT because we talk to him quite often as it is. Plus, with a lot of people wanting Kegan back, we're going to have a hard time explaining to the league why we picked someone over Kegan to be Degan's replacement.

Don sounds like he would make a good member and I think would should tell him that when we have our next opening, we will contact him to see if he is still interested in joining the league and if he is then he gets it. I think he would make a good GM but I'm backing Kegan for this opening

I agree with Aaron. Bragging about signing Chris Davis in the IYFBL isn't really a whole lot. I was/am in that league... players like Derek Holland were available up until October. I'm more on board with bringing Kegan back than I am Rowan. In order, I would go Kegan, Don then Rowan. But that's just me.

While I have doubts about Kegan's long-term viability, for the moment he looks like the best fit (and the league is for him). Let's bring him back.

I talked to him for a second last night and told him that 99% he was back in and that someone would get in contact with him today and give him all the details. BP/JP/Shawn, one of y'all want to write something up telling him about the changes in the league since he's left and everything?

well. here we are again. Kegan hasn't replied to any of the IM's I've sent him the past few days... or even opened the PM I sent him on March 12th. He hasn't posted anything since February, didn't submit a list for his pretty good waiver position... hasn't opened other peoples PM's, who have spoken to me about it. Hate to say it, but we're going to have to be looking at removing him unless he shapes up quickly. (Very disappointing I might add after he vowed to be active this time...)

Do we go ahead and remove Kegan and try to bring in Don before the start of the season? Do we give Kegan till the break, what's the deal here? The league wanted Kegan back, so we were in a no win situation, if we went another direction we have people bitching that we didn't listen to them, but now Kegan's proven that he's not up to the task. We gave the people what they wanted. I forget who said it, but it wasn't the gladiators in the arena that made Rome fall, it was the spectators cheering in the stands

I think we should probably at least give Kegen the start of the season (that's one more week) to see if he picks it up - not just by responding to JP's repeated attempts to contact him but also with some interest in his team like sending in a lineup or something - while realizing that there is a good chance that we're going to have to find another person.

But I don't think that anyone in the league will hold it against us if we move on after Kegen is completely nonresponsive for the entire run-up to the season, particularly given his history of losing interest.
