Two guys who don't fit into my long term plans.

Kaz Matsui - .272/.326/.395, 16 SB/3 CS

The switch hitting Matsui features VG ratings for both bunting catagories along with VG ratings for Run, Steal, and Jump. He will likely be the Astros opening day leadoff hitter.

Rotoworld: Manager Cecil Cooper said Tuesday -
"He can really jump-start us, and as it stands right now he’s the guy at the top," Cooper said. "We look for him to set the tone. He’s a good offensive player when he’s got his legs under him."

He hit .293/.357/.427 in 2008.

Micah Hoffpauir - .286/.323/.505, 315 AB, 25 2B, 14 HR

Micah qualifies at 1B, LF, and RF. Not super range, but his error ratings are solid.

I've run quite a few seasons so far and ZIPS seems to suppress offense, especially slugging. Hoffpauir can help there as he has the 33rd highest overall projected slugging percentage and the 16th highest OF slugging percentage. Both borderline top 10%.

Compare to:

Jay Bruce - .276/.328/.522, 613 AB, 32 2B, 37 HR
Cory Hart - .282/.331/.491, 503 AB, 35 2B, 20 HR
Rick Ankiel -.260/.318/.496, 462 AB, 21 2B, 28 HR

Given 630 (315 * 2)ABs Hoffpauir could approach 50 2B and 28 HR. He's also only 29 years old.

I only had 11 pitchers get projections from ZIPS and Jaime Garcia is out for the year, so I'm looking for pitching. Matsui can be had for for a RP, preferably LH who'll help this year. I want a little more for Hoffpauir as he should be valuable next year too, but a pitcher(SP or RP) I can get a couple years out of would fit the bill nicely.

Thanks.
