Fantasy Football Advice

I'm in a 12-team league where we're transitioning to a keeper league this season (I'm fairly out of the running right now barring a miracle). I can keep three guys who weren't drafted in the first three rounds. Right now I'm leaning toward keeping a QB (Matt Ryan or Kyle Orton, probably Ryan) and 2 RBs (Tim Hightower and Ronnie Brown).
Any thoughts, opinions or advice would be appreciated.

Eligible keepers: Ryan, Orton, Brown, Hightower, DeSean Jackson, Donald Driver, Earnest Graham, Antonio Bryant.

League Scoring:
Passing Yards 50 yards per point
Passing Touchdowns 6
Interceptions -2
Rushing Yards 20 yards per point
Rushing Touchdowns 6
Reception Yards 20 yards per point
Reception Touchdowns 6
Return Touchdowns 6
2-Point Conversions 2
Fumbles Lost -2

id have to agree with your choices. matt ryan is a no brainer and i would definitely keep ronnie brown. as far as the WR's you listed go, i think you can do better (unless you are a big desean jackson fan, which i am not). id go with hightower.

I am a big DeSean Jackson fan, but hard to justify him over Hightower.

I agree with Ryan, Brown, and Hightower, too. Jackson would be the only other one in consideration in my mind, and unless he busts out these last few weeks, he should be reasonably easy to draft next season. If James is gone in Arizona next season, Hightower has pretty good odds to be a three-down back, which would be huge.

Even if Arizona gets another back Hightower should be the touchdown guy. Man does that kid run hard.

Thanks. I am a big Jackson fan actually, but the kid just doesn't find the end zone enough (2 TD's, one receiving) and the league is TD heavy on the scoring.
I don't actually have to make my decision on who to keep until shortly before the draft next year, but it's never to early to think about that stuff.

That's even better on Jackson because you'll find out if McNabb is staying or not. That will totally change the dynamic in Philly.

I have Jackson both my teams, and I'd definitely keep him. His value might seem a bit down because of his prospects for the remainder of this season, but he's a pretty skilled playmaker (he does make special teams plays - which indicates he's got some RAC skills) and they don't really have any stars at wideout who demand the ball. I wouldn't be surprised if he's got more QB targets p/g than all but Curtis. I haven't really seen Hightower play so I can't speak to his abilities, but when all the Eagle WR were down, Jackson handled the primary WR duties and put up a few big games. Not a sure bet to become a star, but he won't hurt you if he puts up similar numbers to this season. Also probably hitting a rookie wall right about now. I agree Ryan and Brown seem like pretty straightforward choices for the other two keepers. I'm in a PPR lg, which probably bumps WR value a little, but the dude has wheels. Which offense do you trust to be good again next year? Arizona or Philly?

I kind of suck at fantasy football though, so I wouldn't listen to me if I were you. I manage to find just the wrong mix every week. Kind of like the Raiders but no creepy old man. My top 3 picks this year in FFB:

league 1: Tom Brady, Willis McGahee, Torry Holt (dead, three-headed, and just plain awful)
league 2: Joe Addai, Tony Romo, Marques Colston (romo and colston back just in time for me to miss the playoffs where they score a billion points)

I wouldnt keep jackson. RB's are a premium in fantasy football, you can always find WRs who have breakout years. Also theres a lot of controversy going on with Mcnabb right now. Its obvious that his days are coming to an end in Philly. They drafted Kolb last year and Mcnabb hasnt had a full season in 4 years. I would stay clear of all Philly Wrs

The idea of RB's as a premium is pretty antiquated now, most teams use multiple RBs and goalline specialists steal a lot of touchdowns. Depending on your format QB's are the key now. I'm actually winning my league even though my season should have ended in the first quarter of the first game, thanks to an improbably resurrection by Kyle Orton (who also was my second QB the last time I won the league).

I had Manning, Orton and Ryan at one point this year...
The RB as premium still holds in our league, at least as far as trade value (think SP in the IBC) but I plan on spending some time in the offseason doing some real analysis on points per position based on our scoring system (I've been lazy on that so far) before I make my final decisions.
