I'm willing to give any Yankee the benefit of the doubt, but if you watch the video, it's pretty evident A-Rod yelled "Mine." If I were Howie Clark, in my first game for they Jays up from AAA, I would have tackled him - with a bulldozer.
I yelled, "I got it," once when I was 10. I was pulled from the game and my dad yelled at me for an hour.
I don't care if you run into guys, slide hard into second, hit guys on purpose, etc. That is part of the game.
What ARod did is totally disrespectful to baseball's onfield code. Catchers can talk to hitters, first basemen can talk to runners on first, etc. - but you can't do something that specifically alters the action of the game verbally.
If a third basemen were to yell "stop" with a runner rounding third, that would be totally unacceptable as well.
What I'm trying to say is, "I hate A-Rod." Will the Yanks just f'ing trade him...

Yeah that's total bush league. If McDonald had punched him, I would've picked him back up and went with 1 catcher for the next 6 weeks just because of how impressed I would be. ARod is a prick and if I'm the Jays, his first at bat the rest of the year in every game, fastball in his earhole. He's a pussy, not like he's gonna do anything about it. And if I'm Howie Clark or McDonald, next time he's anywhere near me on the basepaths, I'm knocking him on his ass. I'm sure his teammates hate him too, so I doubt the rush on the field to his aide would be very quick
