postseason awards

I was thinking today about how at the end of the year we always try to do postseason awards but people just throw out names at random and we usually don't end up actually naming someone. With that in mind, I think I may have a solution. We compose a committee of say, 5-7 guys, with each one nominating people for the NL and AL CY, ROY, MVP and MOY. The committee can weed out some choices and when it gets down to a certain number say 8 or so, we post leaguewide polls for each award and the winner of the voting is the winner of the award. Thoughts?

Um...post style is probably easiest depending on the time frame, will figure out if I have time to make a nice interface or not.

Post-season has no bearing on regular season awards and if I recall correctly the real MVPs etc. are voted on before the post season even begins.
