Where did Wednesday go? Sorry. Here's the Hotlist. Hitters edition 9/7.

1. Luke Scott - LF - RedSox
.469/.544/1.041, 8 2B, 6 HR, 16 R, 14 RBI
Big numbers from Scott in the period as the Red Sox try to keep from becoming a sub .500 team just one year after winning 100 games. His 6 HR tied for the league lead over the last two weeks and his 15 XBH led the league.

2. Nate Schierholtz - DH - Mets
.426/.460/.915, 3 2B, 6 HR, 14 R, 10 RBI
Schierholtz followed up a fine year last year in the PCL with a .320/.363/.594 line this year and so far he's more than holding his own in MLB at .462/.533/.731 in 26 AB with 2BB to 1K. Looks like another good sim will be forthcoming from the 24 year old outfielder. DMB has him listed as a DH, but with average range in RF, so I don't know what that's about.

3. Jason Giambi - 1B - Rays
.390/.519/.854, 4 2B, 5 HR, 13 R, 11RBI
Giambi is the first Ray to merit inclusion in the Hotlist since I began doing them. We like to keep the Trop pretty cool, so the porn-stache was probably grown to keep him warm in the IBC. It was either mention the 'stache or that he sweats like a priest at a littleleague game. He's having a pretty decent year in MLB, so he could sim okay for me next year.

4. Kevin Kouzmanoff - 3B - Astros
.451/.475/.863, 3 2B, 6 HR, 7 R, 21 RBI
Kouzmanoff knows you can't walk off Newport Beach, CA. Well actually you can, but Kouzmanoff still like to swing the stick. He's on pace to reach 600 AB this year in MLB. He's exceeded all expectations for the Astros, hitting .325/.380/.624 for them on the year. Strange start to the hotlist as the first 4 players are all from teams well out of contention in the IBC.

5. Ty Wigginton - 3B - Twins
.449/.518/.816, 6 2B, 4 HR, 11 R, 14 RBI
Wigginton is a newcomer to the Twins line-up, logging over a third of his total AB for the Twins in the last two week period. It was a good two week stretch though as the Twins have pretty much clinched the ALC for the second year in a row. A matchup with JB looks likely.

6. John Lindsey - 1B - Rockies
.413/.481/.739, 5 2B, 2 HR, 10 R, 10 RBI
Lindsey makes his second appearance in the Hotlist this week. Johnny L continues to work hard for the Rockies, taking 4 HBP in the last two weeks to run his season total to 17. Perhaps he could get a Tylenol endorsement.

7. Gary Sheffield - DH - Yankees
.404/.491/.723, 6 2B, 3 HR, 17 R, 11 RBI
Knowing he's looking at a sizable drop in his sim next year, IBC Sheffield has turned it on for the Yankees as they try to shed the Jays and O's in the tight ALE. He's put up a nice line this year for a RHH in Yankee stadium. Is this the year the IBC has it's first repeat winner?

8. Manny Ramirez - LF - Padres
.377/.431/.717, 6 2B, 4 HR, 10 R, 14 RBI
Without a contract to worry about and yet still on the west coast ManRam is producing as the Padres duke it out with the DBacks for the NLW title. Scott Boras won't be the only one to benefit from his real life surge though as Martin should get a nice bump from Manny's newfound 'healthy' knees.

9. Adrian Gonzalez - 1B - WhiteSox
.373/.385/.784, 3 2B, 6 HR, 9 R, 16 RBI
Second place in the ALC has become a three man race with the Royals and Tigers each having 70 wins and the Sox with 69. Adrian Gonzalez did his part by turning in the second highest RBI total for the period. I had the central as one big dogpile in the beginning of the year and I think that's probably going to be the case next year as well.

10. Miguel Cabrera - 3B - Tigers
.353/.411/.725, 2 2B, 5 HR, 11 R, 14 RBI
Also making his second appearance in the Hotlist, Miggy did his best to cancel out the work of Gonzalez in the central. Cabrera has had a HUGE year for the Tigers at .377/.450/.677 with 37 HR. Add in Jackson's improved sim for next year and comebacks by Gallardo and Hughes and the Tigers could make a jump into the IBC elite.
