Earlier pick trading
Seems like the rest of the league wants this to happen, with not one person being a dark cloud on it. Given that set of circumstances and the fact that we have allowed it in the past, I think it's pretty much our obligation to get this done for this year and towards the end of the month.
A few concerns that have been voiced- how it affects the rosters. Simply put, it shouldn't. If I deal Villaneuva for a second round pick, giving me six picks and 49 players, I should absolutely be allowed to sign another player to give me 50. I would just have to make the cuts at the appropriate time during the draft.

Hold your horses, no need to rush anything. When the roster questions are answered we'll go ahead and approve it. I really like how the discussion is going, I think we'll get a consensus plan out of that without the need for the ExCo to cobble something together and declare it done. I don't think we need to vote on anything privately if there isn't some kind of major disagreement that stalls the league-wide discussion.

Well either way it has to go to either a full league vote or a ExCo vote. I think it'd be easiest to let the league continue to discuss until we reach a general consensus on all required rules and then vote on it as ExCo in order to pass (since that seems to be the way we're leaning) it quickly and efficiently.

Oh yeah, the league is doing such a great job of figuring it out.
Anyway I still think we need to take the initiative and lay down the rules as to what would happen, the date it would happen, etc., so they'd know exactly what they'd be voting on. Which is why I started this last week or whenever I made this thread, so when the discussion died down, we'd have everything ready to go. Now we'll spend a week haggling about this.
It shouldn't take that long though, I think we have everything hammered out already. We wouldn't start this till August 1st, correct? That should be every year too, not just this year. Also the draft spots wouldn't count towards our roster, correct? So I could have 20 picks and 50 players on my roster, and that's still a-ok until I have to start drafting and dropping players.
Am I missing anything else? I've had a few GM's ask me what the deal is with this so I would like to get the ball rolling.
