NL West = Toughest division in IBC!

Post by Mariners »

With a combined .518 winning pct.

Padres > 52 - 40 / -
DBacks > 48 - 43 / 3.5
Dodgers > 47 - 44 / 4.5
Rockies > 44 - 45 / 6.5
Giants > 44 - 47 / 7.5
Overall > 235 - 219 / .518

(I'm just assuming, never checked any other divisions.)

Like I said JP, never checked any other divisions, AL East might beat .518, but I'm talking toughest top to bottom. Feel free to add up your division and add it to the conversation.

Ok JP, your 'point' is taken with the AL East at .550, so I guess I should have used a different number. But, my point is the same, the last place team in our division is just a couple games under .500!

Does that make it the "toughest" or just "average" top to bottom, with no real powerhouse teams?

What does it mean, that's the debate, and that's why it's in the "Dumpster" thread, I'm trying to get debate going on the subject.

It simply means the ibc reds are not in the nl west to thouroughly pound you into submission like we have the rest of the NLC. ;)

Actually, the NL West has been an absolute bloodbath. There's no such thing as an easy win in this division. Part of the reason I chose not to relocate last offseason. It's more fun competing against teams that are evenly matched. Makes every GM decision that much more crucial.
2008-2023 Mets: 1,143-1,296...469%
2006-2008 Rockies: 242-244...498%

IBC Total: 1,385-1,540...474%
2022: lost WC
2023: lost WC
2024: 1st NL East; lost WC

Really? I kind of enjoy being in a division where I don't even need real starting pitchers (or a middle of the lineup for that matter) to win it.

When you win as much as I usually do, you seek out tough competition.

IBC NL West this year:

SF 36-25 ( L5, 3-7 L10, Losing Peavy and Bondo and Nils admits at crossroads)
COL 36-26 - losing Sizemore and Lidge for a bit, needs some P
AZ 31- 33 - Defending champs under .500
SD 27-34 - i admit this one perplexes me, shouldn't have a record like that
LAD 27-35- just made a big move for 2010 / Beyond

is this the toughest division in the IBC? I don't think so especially when you have divisions like the NL central:

Cincinnati 42-20
Pittsburgh 40-25 (added my h2h win tomorrow in)
St. Louis 34-31 - two time defending NL Champs
Houston 29-33 - pretty solid for a rebuilding team
Chicago 28-34- only recently into the tank, 2-8 L10
Milwaukee 17-45 - ok well there's a cupcake for this year, but Ben is doing a good job turning over his roster which didn't have a ton.

or how about the as always tough AL East?

NYY 48-18
BOS 36-26
TOR 37-28- defending IBC champs
BAL 22-40
TB 19-47 - obviously the toughest rebuilding effort in the league

AL East bottom might not be as tough as the NL West but the top is sure as hell heavier.

How about the ALC?

KC 40-21
MIN 38-26
DET 35-29
CHW 27-37
CLE 25-39

I think I'd take those divisions as being the "toughest" ahead of the NLW any day right now.

Back on this, how the hell can you lose 11 in a row and stay in first by 9.5 games?

Pretty easy when the second place team is in the middle of a 9 game losing streak, at the same time.
