Re: Draft Discussion Thread
Honestly a little surprised to see JP go double SP out of the gate since he has an entire 40 man of pitching already.
Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I also thought he would go a pitcher and a hitter

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I was a bit surprised, too. It was my intention to go best arm, best bat and call it a day. I figured all along I would take Holliday but the swing-and-miss gave me enough pause to pass on him.
I did consider Arquette at two but I felt the two best picks in this draft were the two SP. I'm still not near competing, so any surplus will work itself out.

Dan - how many motherfucks are you throwing at baseball America right now?

Endless.

I was torn between Witherspoon and Hernandez. Went with the guy I’ll have the most rooting interest in as a Sox fan.
Did I make the right choice?

So let’s fill the spots and we won’t have to use a list. It really is the fairest list we could find from a respectable source, that include international players.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
While I got 4 guys I absolutely coveted, credit for the Neyens and Frey picks. Those were two guys I was absolutely targeting if the dropped into the early 2nd. There's no Strasburg/Harper/Skenes in this draft, but I think this group is really, really, really good. Still players on the board I like a ton.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I really coveted Colome and thought he'd make it to 18, but I'm pretty happy with Neyens, who just edged out Ethan Conrad on my draft board to be the pick.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
All,
With draft pick trading happening during the draft, tracking and updating the board has been difficult. Your team page is the official record, so if you see a discrepancy between the draft thread and your page, please post here so we can get the board cleaned up.
Thanks

Dudes. You already blew it (again). IBC O's just won the draft before round 3 (again). Too easy. No need for multiple top 10 picks (like 1 and 2) and 5 picks in the first 50 like Trader Bob (JP) to find a star.

Love this haul so far.

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
An impressive list, but you gave up substantial value to amass all those high picks. So I'm sayin if we're measuring on a WAR-per-draft-capital-expended basis...

Re: Draft Discussion Thread
I ain't aferd of a little swing-and-miss in the profile. Swing decisions can improve with reps but power doesn't grow on trees. Plus, I'm a sucker for upside, and young Neyens has loads of it.
