RIP Bobby
Bummed I never saw the Dead in their entirety, but I was lucky enough to see Jerry Band in 1994 before Jerry died and saw Bobby and Phil with Dead & Company a few years ago.
RIP Bobby Weir. May the four winds blow you safely home.
Here's Hell in a Bucket - 7/7/89
Also, this show from Stanford - 10/10/82 is some of Bobby at his best. Enjoy.

Re: RIP Bobby
Looks like nobody's here's a Deadhead.
I guess there's more of a Creed/Nickelback vibe from a few of you, so it tracks.

Re: RIP Bobby
Sad passing…talented dude. Saw Lesh and Friends a handful of times (mostly to find good weed) and wouldn’t change the station if the Dead came on…but not what I turn on myself.

Re: RIP Bobby
Should also note that one of my favorite nights of my life was being regaled on Dead stories by Bill Walton.

Re: RIP Bobby
That is awesome.
One of my buddies was smoking a joint on a bench years ago in Pacific Beach in San Diego and Walton was riding his bike along the beach. He rode past, smelled the J, stopped the bike, and came and sat with my buddy to finish the joint. He hung out for like an hour telling him basketball and Dead stories. Would def have been a cool dude to meet.

Re: RIP Bobby
When Walton was doing a Pac-10/12 games, it was much watch t.v., even with 2 shitty teams playing.

Re: RIP Bobby
100% Especially if it was in "Phoenix, Arizonaaa, one of the premier cities in the valley of the suuunn."
Loved that guy. Could never be mad at Walton, Vitale, Bilas or Raftery on a game I was watching because those 4 dudes just love college ball more than anybody.
Nothing will ever be as good as Bilas, McDonough, Raftery on Big Monday doing Big East basketball on ESPN in the early 2000 and 2010s when the BE was the best college basketball league of all time. Best collection of coaches and programs ever assembled. Pretty sure there were 10+ teams in the tourney multiple times.

Re: RIP Bobby
If you are a fan of the Dead, or other bands that decided against prohibiting audio recordings of their live shows, or put out some of their live stuff for free, this app ReListen probably has many of their shows, and the Dead shows can be sorted or searched by anything including recording quality, popularity (so you can find that Cornell 77 real easy), location and individual song title. They have multiple recordings (both soundboard and crowd sources) with ratings, so it's really easy to access a quality recording of any show. There may be other even better online resources than this, but it's what I've used for Dead shows for years.
Other cool bands with shit available on the ReListen App:
Phish (and all the other jam bands from that scene, like .moe, Leftover Salmon, Lettuce, O.A.R. etc.)
Animal Collective
Billy Strings
Built to Spill
Cracker
The Decembrists
The Derek Trucks Band
Drive-By-Truckers
Dub Apocalypse (I was buddies w/ these dudes when I lived in Boston. They played at a tiny spot called Bull McCabe's in Somerville. Awesome reggae band. For a little while, the singer was this Jamaican cab driver they met randomly in his cab in Boston named Skiffy. That dude sounded fucking awesome. I had no idea their shows were on this app until I just went through it now. Def check them out if you dig skilled musicians playing quality reggae music. They have a weekly residency at Sally O'Brien's in Somerville if you live in the area.)
Fugazi
G. Love and Special Sauce
Goose
Guster
Jack Johnson
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard
Little Feat
My Morning Jacket
The National
Ryan Adams
Smashing Pumpkins
Spoon
Tedeschi Trucks Band
Vulfpeck
The Walkmen
The War on Drugs
Warren Zevon
Ween
White Denim
Widespread Panic
The Wood Brothers
Yes
It's on the app store and android too I think, but annoyingly doesn't work with Apple CarPlay yet.
