Kris Bubic's Season-Opening Scoreless Streak Ends
April 20, 2021 (AP) Rookie Kris Bubic started his 4th game of the year and it was the first when he allowed any runs. His scoreless streak to begin the year (and his IBC career) ended at 22 innings, but the Diamondbacks are still undefeated in his starts, thanks to a late rally punctuated by a 3 run blast by Jared Walsh which lifted Arizona over the Reds 12-6.

Kris Bubic essentially clinched the NL ERA Title with today's start vs. the San Francisco Giants. He finishes his astonishing regular reason with a 13-4 record and a 2.03 ERA in 27 starts. In 164 innings pitched, he allowed only 104 hits. This day was also important for the Diamondbacks as they clinched a playoff spot and moved closer to the NL West Division title with a 5-4 extra inning victory. The Diamondbacks are also tied for the best record in the NL after today and face a crucial showdown against the Rockies starting Friday to finish the regular season.
