Early IBC Observations

Post by Cardinals »

We're nearly 40 games into our year, here's a few things that caught my eyes from each division:

-- Red Sox are on a mission. +108 margin and 4 games ahead of the Yankees. Long way to go, but the defending champs might be playing in a Wild Card game this year.

-- Surprised the Royals and Twins aren't performing as well. Expecting Pat to win the division, but also expected KC and Minnesota to be better than 6.5 and 10 games out at this point.

-- AL West is probably the best division in the AL? Four teams .500 or better. d'Esterhazy is enjoying Oakland with a +74 RD. Helps to have 18 free wins against the Mariners this year to buoy the ALW records. I'm expecting ALWC2 to come out of the west because of this.

-- NL East is a bloodbath. Four teams over .500 within 3.5 of each other. Won't shock me if any of Philly, NY, Miami or Washington wins the division. Should be the most fun to watch this year.

-- Shocked that Aaron is over .500 and Bishop is under .500. Figured Cinci and Chicago would be a bit better than where they are, but the Reds are dealing with a lot of injuries.

-- NL West is fun with three teams trying to race to the bottom but none of them can really get there since they play each other. AZ and Colorado should duke it out all year. Liking Arizona's team right now, but not going to discount Nate here.
