August 5 Power Rankings

Post by Cardinals »

Different twist this year. Rather than scrounge up 30 new girls, Aaron and I decided to use classic (no more recent than 90s) girls. Enjoy!

No. 1, Pirates: Marilyn Monroe

Image

JP will be going to the playoffs for a 5th year in a row and be the team to beat for a 5th year in a row. The Pirates have pushed aside JB as the best team in the IBC and he has a lineup and rotation that will be great for years to come. There are no real holes on this Pirates squad, maybe add an arm for the pen, someone for the bench? The Pirates may be hoisting another banner at the end of the year. Someone as sexy as this Pirates team, when you ask someone to name a sexy lady, Marilyn Monroe is still someone that comes to mind even 50 years after her death. People that’ve never seen her movies know who she is. Sure, she slept with just about everyone, but that was her appeal. Unlike Marilyn, don’t expect the Pirates to have an early demise.

No. 2, Diamondbacks: Farrah Fawcett

Image

Arizona holds a commanding 10-game lead in the NL West, and will head to the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons barring one of the biggest collapses in IBC history. Arizona has failed to advance past the NLCS in each of its previous four trips to the playoffs. Jag's rebuilding effort and subsequent success has made his team quite popular, and one of the best in the league -- just like Farrah Fawcett became the bees knees after her swimsuit poster. Fawcett saw her career skyrocket, and is the most famous member of Charlie's Angels, and for good reason. With the second-best run differential in the IBC, this could be the year Jag's stock takes off too -- with a pennant and IBC title.

No. 3, Athletics: Ann-Margaret

Image

By hook or by crook, it seems that Jake is always in the hunt for the AL West title. He has made the playoffs half the time he has been in the league. This year looks to be no different, as he leads the AL West after the break. With a rotation that is simming better than projected and a lineup built around Stanton and Posey, Jake is in good shape for the time being but relying on the sim to save you could be dangerous. This team needs to make a few moves to solidify itself and hold off the Rangers. Ann-Margaret turned a screen test into stardom, becoming one of the major sex symbols of the 1960s with roles in Viva Las Vegas, Bye Bye Birdie and The Cincinnatti Kid. As she got older, she took on more serious roles and her star waned. If Jake doesn’t get a more serious rotation, look for his star to wane as well, and be in danger of missing the playoffs.

No. 4, Reds: Dolly Parton

Image

Somehow, some way, Ken keeps on winning. Looking over his roster, nothing jumps out at you, it just seems like a team that should be around .500, but here is Ken once more in contention for a playoff spot. Trumbo, Hamilton, Bruce, Phillips, there is a real power threat here but the pitching is not intimidating, and this is more of a smoke and mirrors job than anything. Come October, having to win the Wild Card playoff to get in, it could be a short trip for the Redlegs, but they’re dangerous for the time being. Dolly Parton has been around since 1967, and while the talent is real, there is a lot of her that isn’t. Dolly is one of the greatest songwriters and country singers of all time, responsible for some of the economic success of her formerly poor home of Sevier County, TN and her Imagination Library sends a book a month to children from birth until they enter kindergarten. But to most Dolly is known for her plastic surgeries and particularly her ginormous boobs. While Dolly’s successes in all aspects of her life are real, the boobs are fake, much like Ken’s chances of a deep October run.

No. 5, Yankees: Audrey Hepburn

Image

Despite the injuries to A-Rod, Jeter, Halladay, Kemp, Betancourt and now Pujols, JB finds himself holding onto the lead in the AL East -- again. The Bronx Bombers did ship CC Sabathia to Colorado, and will be without Pujols going forward, but presently, the Yankees hold the top run differential in the American League, and still have to be considered the favorites to win the AL East -- for the sixth straight season. Very few GMs in this IBC boast a track record of success, but things could be coming to an end. Still, the Yankees are Hepburn -- synonymous with classic beauty, much like Hepburn. Even if the Yankees meet their demise by settling for a Wild Card or suffering an early exit in the playoffs, or even missing them, the impact and dominance of the Yankees for years will be remembered -- much like Hepburn's style.

No. 6, Tigers: Carrie Fisher

Image

Detroit is mired in a three-team race in the AL Central, but currently holds a two-game lead over the suddenly red-hot Royals. It's just Pat G's second year back from his IBC hiatus, but he's on pace to make the playoffs for a second consecutive season with his Tigers. Pat is a very good GM, and it feels like he never left the league -- but then you stop and realize that he now is on the "Best GM never to win a title" short list. Carrie Fisher is most notable for her role as Princess Leia, and nerds everywhere rejoiced when they saw her as Jabba the Hutt's slave. Since then, she's done nothing notable -- at least to us. Pat has the potential to get back to the World Series for the first time since 2005, but he'll need to bring back at least another pennant, if not a title, sooner rather than later to avoid fading into the background like Fisher.

No. 7, Rangers: Kathy Ireland

Image

After upsetting the Yankees in the ALCS last year en route to capturing their second pennant, the Rangers were anointed as the team to beat in the AL West, and one of the contenders for the AL pennant. Things haven't gone to plan for Brett's Rangers this season, as Texas finds itself trailing Oakland in the AL West, and are fighting for a wild card spot. The Rangers are only 3.5 back of Oakland and hold a three-game lead in the loss column on the first wild card spot, so it's likely the Rangers will return to the playoffs. Brett has had plenty of success recently. In the last four seasons, his team has gone to the playoffs three times, capturing two pennants and a World Series title, and should head back this season. Three times a cover girl for Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue, Ireland established herself as one of the dominant female forces of her time, and turned her sex appeal into a fortune, turning into a very successful entrepreneur. Texas had plenty of prospects forever, and finally turned that into a title, and a perennial contender. Not too shabby.

No. 8, Marlins: Cindy Crawford

Image

The Marlins are poised to go to the playoffs for the fifth time in the last six seasons in 2013, holding a five-game loss-column lead over the Braves and the Phillies on Aug. 5. Ever since moving to Florida/Miami, Dan has shown that he's the team to beat in the NL East. With a one-two punch of Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer, the Marlins are set up nicely in the playoffs -- if they hold off Atlanta and Philadelphia. Miami's future looks bright too, with Wil Myers and ManBearPuig putting up excellent rookie campaigns. Crawford is one of the hottest models of all-time, but that damn mole is always there. When you say Cindy Crawford, I say mole. It's pretty simple. Like Pat G, Dan finds himself on the short-list of Best GMs not to win a title. Until he does, we'll all just think of that mole.

No. 9, Red Sox: Ingrid Bergman

Image

Pat has won the Wild Card two years in a row and is in the running for it again this year, though it seems about half of the AL is as well. Despite his entire rotation performing worse than their projection, Pat can still be a threat in October. The biggest glaring weakness is probably Andres Torres in CF. Still, there is no holes that can’t be fixed without a couple of deals, and Pat has a deal in place to upgrade the rotation and bullpen as soon as draft picks are available to trade. Ingrid Bergman is probably known to most of us from either Casablanca or a conversation between Michael and Kay in The Godfather when Michael finds out Vito has been shot. Bergman was a huge star in the 1940s, but her career was ruined when she had an on-set affair with her director that resulted in a pregnancy. While she had successes afterward, she never reached the potential that she had. We’ve all known Pat’s potential for some time, could this year be his Casablanca?

No. 10, Rockies: Cheryl Ladd

Image

Right now Jake is leading the 2nd Wild Card in the NL. Entering his 7th season, Jake has never made the playoffs, though he did manage to tie for the NL West and lost a one game playoffs to Nils at one point. That was his peak. This year, while he will not be catching Jag, he could still make some noise. Adam Jones is dangerous and the offense doesn’t really have a glaring hole outside Drew Stubbs, there is nothing on this team that jumps out to grab you. With a couple trades Jake could set himself up to be dangerous in October, assuming he gets there. Cheryl Ladd was the other blonde on Charlie’s Angels. Overshadowed by Farrah Fawcett, who she replaced, Ladd lasted the rest of the series and appeared on a number of TV shows and TV movies after the show was cancelled in 1981. While she has kept working, she never became a real big star, much like Jake has failed to become anything more than another team that didn’t beat Nils or Jag. At least he’ll beat Nils this year.

No. 11, Blue Jays: Cybill Shepherd

Image

Toronto is still the Island of Misfit Toys, as Pat has once again cobbled together a lineup of a bunch of guys you’ve probably not heard of, is coaxing them into performing above their projections and is in the hunt to return to October for the first time since 2010. Nothing on this team jumps out at you besides Cliff Lee, but year after year Pat is in contention. Cybill Shepherd has been around since 1971 and despite being in her 60s is still an attractive woman. She’s been a star on the big screen, with The Last Picture Show and Taxi Driver among her biggest credits, and starred in 2 successful TV shows (Moonlighting and Cybill), had a successful music career and dated Elvis. Pat’s list of accomplishments are just as impressive, and he may be adding another banner to the team page this year, though lord knows how.

No. 12, Royals: Olivia Newton-John

Image

Is this the year the Royals finally break through and make the playoffs? Gudim has been in the league since Oct. 2007, and has yet to make the playoffs, but now finds himself just two games behind Pat in the AL Central, and right in the wild card mix as well -- despite Kansas City's intentions to rebuild. The Royals may need to make a move or two to surge past Detroit, but their run differential suggests that they'll at least make this an interesting race down the stretch. Newton-John was popular prior to Grease as a recording artist, singing songs written by Bob Dylan, but her career didn't truly skyrocket until Grease. Jason has always had solid teams, but never launched himself into the playoffs -- but maybe 2013 is his version of Grease.

No. 13, White Sox: Vivien Leigh

Image

Jim finally broke through in 2011 and won the AL Central, and this year he is in contention for another crown. Jim’s got a solid but not spectacular lineup, and a rotation headlined by Lance Lynn. Nothing jumps out at you but he’s winning. What he really needs is something to put him over the top, be it a middle of the order bat or a top of the rotation starter. If not, he may get to October but he probably won’t be staying very long. Vivien Leigh was a British actress that won 2 Academy Awards playing Southern belles, Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind and Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire. Other than those roles she is best known for being married to Laurence Olivier for 20 years. Jim has not had the breakout yet that Gone With the Wind was for Leigh, and it looks like this year will not be it either.

No. 14, Braves: Lynda Carter

Image

Brandon has had a long, hard fall since the halcyon days of 2007. Riding the projection of Hiram Bocachica, Brandon won the NL East and advance to the NLCS. The following year he lost the Wild Card playoff to the Cardinals and rebuilt the team. The Braves are done with the rebuild and the team is currently in the middle of the pack. Trading Bryce Harper will be something Brandon probably regrets for a long time. While guys like Chris Sale and Todd Frazier are contributors on a winning team, they’re centerpieces of this Braves team that is just missing a few pieces from being a playoff threat (maybe a middle of the order bat. Someone young and with power, hmmmm). Lynda Carter starred as Wonder Woman from 1975-1979. Other than that, she hasn’t really done anything. She was in Super Troopers, I guess that’s something. Otherwise she’s been living on the reputation of being Wonder Woman almost 40 years ago, just like Brandon’s living on the 2007 NL East title as his IBC resume. Time to add some more banners to the team page Brandon, otherwise you risk having the IBC imdb equivalent of Cater.

No. 15, Phillies: Bo Derek

Image

Nick peaked in the first year of the IBC, winning the title in 2002 thanks to a miracle run that in hindsight is nearly unbelievable. Since moving to Philly, Nick has mostly been in rebuilding mode, aside from 2010 when he won the division. Nick sits in the thick of the wild card race this year and a great, young core to build around (Gattis, McCutcheon, Freeman, Samardzja). If he can make a couple moves, make his pitching staff better, Nick could be trouble. Bo Derek also peaked at the beginning of her career, starring in 10 and becoming one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1980s. From there, her career went nowhere and aside from a memorable role in Tommy Boy she has done nothing of note. While she still looks good despite being 56, Derek’s career never neared the potential it appeared to have after 10. Nick so far has not reached the potential that 2002 showed, but with the young guys on his team, he could end up being a 10 himself before too long.

No. 16, Rays: Jennifer Grey

Image

Did you know Martin has been around since 2005? He has never made the playoffs, though for a short time it looked to be he, and not Jag, that would be the one to dethrone Nils in the NL West. A move to Tampa for a rivalry with Pat Tullar resulted in getting beat down for years. This year though, Martin is in the hunt and has a dangerous lineup (Votto, Encarnacion, Choo, McCann) and a frontline starter (Weaver) to make him dangerous in the playoffs should he get there. With Gallardo also in the rotation and next year’s Patrick Corbin projection, Martin is finally ready to be a player, he just needs to add maybe one more starter, upgrade 2b, SS or 3b and he’ll be set. Jennifer Grey you ask? You remember her; she was Ferris Bueller’s sister, in Red Dawn and the chick from Dirty Dancing. Her career was set to take off, as she had the girl next door appeal Hollywood loves. Then she got a nose job and nobody recognized her. Her appeal was gone, all because she made one bad decision and her promising career was ruined. Here’s hoping for Martin’s sake, whatever deal he pulls off doesn’t turn into a Jennifer Grey nose job.

No. 17, Dodgers: Jacyln Smith

Image

Shawn’s contributions to the league are known far and wide, the stuff he has done for us has been amazing. On the field though, the results have yet to really come in. A division title in 2007 resulted in being swept in the NLCS. Winning the 2012 Wild Card resulted in another quick exit. This year, Shawn is once more in the Wild Card hunt, but he is on the outside looking in. If/when Chris Carpenter comes back, this team will be a lot better, but it could be too little, too late by then. Jaclyn Smith was another one of Charlie’s Angels that wasn’t Farrah Fawcett. On the show from beginning to end, other than that she is best known for her line of clothes available at Kmart. While her resume may be long, there isn’t much to be impressed by. If Shawn wants us to remember him for his teams and not his computer savvy, he’d better get cracking or else he’ll end up at Kmart too.

No. 18, Astros: Natalie Wood

Image

For years, Nate was an IBC powerhouse, seemingly the favorite to win the title every year and every year coming up short. Eventually life got in the way and due to inactivity; Nate had to leave us from the 2009-2011 seasons before returning in 2012. In his first year back, Nate shocked everyone and finished one game behind the Wild Card. After a move to the AL West this year, Nate sits around .500. Natalie Wood first achieved fame as the little girl in Miracle on 34th Street. After that she starred in many classic films, such as Rebel Without a Cause, The Searchers, West Side Story and Splendor in the Grass. After having children, Wood rarely acted, choosing to stay at home with her daughters. She went back to work again in the early 1980s. She is probably better known now for her death in 1983, which is surrounded by mystery. Did husband Robert Wagner or costar Christopher Walken kill her or was her drowning an accident? Hopefully Nate’s return doesn’t meet a similar fate.

No. 19, Twins: James Dean

Image

Since making the playoffs for three consecutive seasons between 2006-08, including a trip to the World Series, Andrew's Twins haven't seen much success. Andrew always built his team from within, and if memory serves, even played with a budget in his own head for his team and tried to abide by that. Minnesota won't make the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season, but has a strong base of talent in Bumgarner, Teheran, Cashner, Jackson, McCullers, Wacha and Soler among others. Dean had a successful career -- but it was short lived, as he died at the age of 24, preventing him from reaching even greater heights. Andrew's Twins, so far, peaked in the middle of the aughts, and after five consecutive years of missing the playoffs, Andrew better hope his youngsters pay off -- otherwise his team could go the way of Dean.

No. 20, Mets: Tawny Kitean

Image

New York began the season with hopes of capturing the NL East, and, at the least, competing for the wild card. The Mets' offense failed to show up this season, hitting just .246/.306/.372 through the team's first 111 games. That's not going to cut it, and unfortunately for John, his IBC squad will hit the links early in October. John came close a few times when he was in the NL West with the Rockies, but hasn't made the breakthrough to October baseball yet. Kitaen isn't really known for much besides Whitesnake videos and beating up poor Chuck Finley -- and so far, John's Rockies and Mets haven't been known for much, other than doing his best to win every season and coming up just short.

No. 21, Brewers: Tiffani Amber Thiessen

Image

Ground control to Major Ben -- are you even there? The Brewers had high hopes of competing this season, armed with Strasburg, Cueto, Fowler, Grilli and other pieces. All four of those players spent time on the disabled list for the Brewers this season, and Milwaukee finds itself 35 games out of the NL Central-leading Pirates on August 5. Ouch. Despite the lack of attention, injuries and 51-60 record, Milwaukee is only 6 games behind Colorado in the loss column for WC2. Without looking, tell me what Thiessen did since 90210 or Saved by the Bell? She will always been known to us as Kelly Kapowski, and there's no shame in that. Aside from tanking and acquiring Strasburg through the draft, what have the Brewers accomplished? Not that Strasburg, like Kapowski, is a role or player to sneeze at, but it feels like a missed opportunity in Wisconsin.

No. 22, Cardinals: Heather Locklear

Image

Once the kings of the National League, the Cardinals have fallen from IBC grace after losing to Toronto in the 2008 World Series. Between 2004-2008, the Cardinals made the playoffs four times, winning three wild cards, one division crown, two pennants and a World Series in one of the most successful five-year runs in IBC history. Since then, Aaron has decided to entirely rebuild his team, which resulted in ugly years for the Redbirds, but with a stable of prospects on the way, the Cardinals should compete for a playoff spot in 2014. Locklear was formerly all that and a bag of chips, with her roles on Melrose Place, Dynasty and Spin City, but hasn't really been heard from since. If you've seen her lately, she still has her fastball even at 51, and she has one of the main roles on a new TNT show. Will the Cardinals be able to get a main role themselves in 2014 and return to playoff baseball? Time will tell, but the Cards are moving in the right direction.

No. 23, Mariners: Liz Taylor

Image

After making the playoffs four times in a five-year span at the league's inception, the Mariners have only seen the playoffs once -- in 2010, when the M's were sent home by the Yankees in the ALCS. Seattle looked poised to compete in 2013, but the team really played well, and is now 19 games under .500, and 22 games out of first place in the AL West. There's a wealth of talent in Seattle, with Ellsbury, Adrian Gonzalez, Buxton, Crick, Heaney, Olt and two potential very high draft picks -- including maybe the No. 1 overall pick. Still, with the lack of recent success in the Emerald City, the Mariners need to start competing and return to the upper echelon of IBC teams. Liz Taylor was a star immediate -- much like Brennan's teams in the early going of the league -- and did eventually translate her child stardom into adult stardom. She was married eight times, so she was a little crazy (hopefully Brennan hasn't been married eight times), but there's little doubting her success. There's no doubting Seattle's past success and young talent, but will the M's be able to transition like Taylor did and enjoy a long period of later success?

No. 24, Cubs: Pam Anderson

Image

The Cubs were poised to compete for a playoff spot this year, with Kershaw, Gonzalez, Cespedes, Perez, Andrus and others calling the friendly confines home. Chicago stayed in the hunt for awhile, but now sit 11 under .500 and 7 back in the loss of the second wild card position. The odds the Cubs making the playoffs this year aren't terribly high, but the team does still boast plenty of high end talent -- notably the best pitcher on the planet. Gabe has only made the playoffs twice, but made the most of his two-year run in 2005-06, capturing the 2006 World Series over Bren's Red Sox (thank you, Gabe). Since then, he moved his Marlins to the NL Central, where it's been tough sledding. Pam Anderson is known for being somewhat crazy, her barbed wire tattoo that Brian Urlacher felt the need to match, and her massive front yard -- and her role on Baywatch, I guess. She hasn't really done a whole lot since, but she was extremely hot back in the day, and nobody can take that way from her -- just like nobody can take Gabe's World Series title away from him, even with his lack of recent success.

No. 25, Giants: Grace Kelly

Image

Having been in the playoffs 7 of the first 11 years of the IBC, Nils established himself as one of the top GMs in the league. Last year Nils finished 31 games behind Jag, by far his worst season ever. This year he was double digits back at the All Star break. Nils has some young pieces to build around (Heyward, Homer Bailey, Pedro Alvarez), but there is no real franchise defining player or prospect on the squad. The sun may have finally set for good on Nils’ empire in the NL West. Grace Kelly had a short career, only doing 11 films over 6 years before retiring at the age of 26. Among those films were all time classics like High Noon, Mogambo, Rear Window, To Catch a Thief and Dial M for Murder. Kelly retired to become Princess of Monaco, and her duties prevented her from ever acting again. She eventually died in a car accident after suffering a stroke while driving. Maybe that is the equivalent of what is happening to Nils now, but maybe his car won’t go over a cliff. Right now, to quote Hans Gruber, he will not be riding off into the sunset with Grace Kelly.

No. 26, Angels: Denise Richards

Image

Los Angeles flirted with contention earlier this year, forcing Stephen to flirt with picking up veteran players. Ultimately, the Angels faded and they are once again focused on rebuilding and adding more picks and prospects -- as evidenced by the Frieri and Jansen trades. With Cole, Taillon and Bundy penciled into the long-term rotation in LA, the Angels shouldn't have a problem pitching, but the team will have to find offense eventually. Still, things look good for the Halos. Richards spent the early part of her career appearing in low-budget films, in minor roles, before exploding onto the scene and becoming a superstar. The Angels could go the same way -- sucking it up, flirting with mediocrity, and then exploding to the playoffs and stardom. A few things have to go right for that to happen, though, but the future is at least looking up.

No. 27, Indians: Kathleen Turner

Image

To be honest, we know very little about Danny. The Indians are one of the worst teams in the league and he has a long road ahead of him. Danny has loaded up on prospects, and needs patience to wait on them to develop. Kathleen Turner was a big star in the 1980s with Romancing the Stone and Body Heat among her credits, but arthritis ruined her career. Danny’s career is just getting started and for his sake, he needs as few roadblocks as possible, so here’s hoping for no random illnesses to derail him.

No. 28, Orioles: Christie Brinkley

Image

2013 marks Steven's fourth year as Orioles GM, and it'll be his fourth consecutive losing campaign -- but that's ok. Thrown into one of the toughest divisions in the IBC, the Orioles focused on accruing as much young talent as they could, and right now, the Orioles have a nice stable of young players in Miller, Fernandez, Gomez, Brown, Rasmus (yes, he's good again), Lindor, Zunino, Martinez and another high draft pick. With the Yankees and Jays getting older, the Orioles could peak at the right time to make things really interesting in the AL East. Though the O's haven't tasted success, their model to rebuild could end up one that other GMs follow. Brinkley was featured three consecutive years on the cover of SI's swimsuit issue, and then had some crazy-long contract with CoverGirl. The Orioles are a good looking team, and could find long-term success -- much like Brinkley did.

No. 29, Padres: Jane Fonda

Image

The Padres are competing with the Nationals for the top pick in this year's draft. There's not a ton positive to say about that, but San Diego is rebuilding, and does have some excellent talent in Machado, Correra, Sano among others. With the NL West appearing to trend down in the coming years, Whale's Vagina could be on the rise -- if Bren tries. We'll see. Jane Fonda used to be extremely good looking, just like Bren's teams (two pennants, one title), and is outspoken -- much like our former Commish. Maybe one day the Padres will rise to the top of these rankings, but Bren will have to be a bit more active in the trade and free agent market before he overtakes the other four teams in the NL West, but the talent is certainly there.

No. 30, Nationals: Sunny

Image

It seemed like every year when Z was managing the Royals, he was pegged as the team to beat in the AL Central. Expectations were high in KC, but Z was never able to break through and win the divison, or the Wild Card for that matter, and his seasons always ended in disappointment, kind of a poor man’s version of Nate’s Reds teams. A move to DC and a rebuild has resulted in Z being at rock bottom, and a long climb back to the top. Sunny was the original diva, arrived in the WWF in 1995 and was the hottest woman every teenage wrestling fan had ever seen. She was the most downloaded woman on AOL in 1996 and looked to have a long career ahead of her. Instead, her personal life spiraled out of control, she had drug issues (there’s a story of her being double teamed by Ahmed Johnson and Shawn Michaels in exchange for coke), was arrested multiple times, the tragic death of her lifelong boyfriend Chris Candido, and other things too sad/long to list. From being every man’s fantasy to being accused of being a prostitute now, the fall has been long and hard. At least Z has the possibility of a happy ending (that’ll cost you extra with Sunny).

Worst rankings in the history of power rankings. Carrie Fisher? Carrie Fisher? I would have rather had James Dean.

Great write up, not sure if I am fond of the connection to Denise though. While I see the connection of my offense being a joke like Loaded Weapon and the potential breakout onto the scene like Wild Things and The World is not Enough, that peak didn't last too long and she more of less became known as Charlie Sheen's ex-wife.
"My shit doesn't work in the playoffs. My job is to get us to the playoffs. What happens after that is fucking luck."

Yea, because we all can't buy our way to a dynasty like you and JB preying off the Dave Taylor's of the world.

Ouch. . . Todd Frazier is a centerpiece of my team?? Makes me want to cut him after reading that. Where's some Markakis, LoMo, Kubel, Garza, Lester respect?

How did Racquel Welch not make this list somehow? She could put most modern supermodels to shame back in the 70's without a quarter of the digital help.

I'd have put Racquel Welch on here in place of anyone other than Marilyn or Audrey.

I'm not sure if that's a great idea, or a terrible one.

What about Brooke Shields, Rebecca Demornay, Michelle Pfieffer or Phoebe Cates?

Would they have taken priority over anyone else on this list besides Carrie Fisher which Pat has made well known.

Meh, beats me.

The funny thing about Pat's complaint is that while she is certainly not the sexiest woman on this list, Carrie Fisher will be held up as a sex symbol for that metal bikini for far longer than most of the women on the list. She may not have the looks, but her role has more staying power.

You're posting (critiquing) about power rankings in a simulation baseball league that is in its 12th season, and you've been apart of it for around half its life. Let's call a spade a spade.
