2011 Boston Red Sox 25 Man Roster

Lineup
C Tony Sanchez - .269/.353/.390, 4 HR, 26 BB/60 K, 100 OPS+
CF Colby Rasmus* - .262/.341/.443, 20 HR, 60 BB/131 K, 110 OPS+
LF Jayson Werth - .263/.357/.475, 23 HR, 70 BB/132 K, 122 OPS+
RF Jay Bruce* - .269/.340/.495, 29 HR, 59 BB/139 K, 120 OPS+
1B Derrek Lee - .270/.350/.462, 22 HR, 63 BB/115 K, 115 OPS+
3B Pedro Alvarez* - .262/.337/.479, 28 HR, 68 BB/186 K, 117 OPS+
DH Raul Ibanez* - .265/.336/.473, 21 HR, 55 BB/103 K, 112 OPS+
SS Ian Desmond - .260/.312/.392, 11 HR, 35 BB/118 K, 87 OPS+
2B Dustin Ackley* - .244/.329/.356, 7 HR, 72BB/100 K, 89 OPS+

Needed Werth and Lee's RH bats as the lineup was quite LH. Balance is much better now. Lineup analysis says this lineup should generate 5.174 runs per game or 838 runs scored over a season. Roughly 100 RS more than last year.

Bench
OF Mike Trout - .274/.345/.375, 8 HR, 64 BB/120 K, 93 OPS+
OF John Bowker* - .264/.329/.430, 15 HR, 41 BB/92 K, 102 OPS+
SS Ty Pastornicky - .245/302/.331, 6 HR, 46 BB/106 K, 70 OPS+
OF Johnny Damon* - .261/.341/.408, 12 HR, 59BB/88 K, 102 OPS+
C Salvador Perez - .265/.288/.375, 8 HR, 18 BB/59 K, 77 OPS+

I'd love to get Trout in the lineup everyday as I think he could steal 80 bases and his error rate and GDP(only 4 GDP in 632 AB) are nuts but OF is my strong point so he'll come off the bench. Added Bowker mainly to keep Toronto from getting him. Pastornicky, De Jesus, and Perez all have VG range so they'll be defensive replacements.

Defense
C Sanchez Av/Fr, Perez Vg/Vg
1B Lee Av
2B Ackley Fr
3B Alvarez Fr
SS Desmond Av, Pastornicky Vg
LF Werth Av, Bowker Vg
CF Rasmus Av, Trout Av
RF Bruce Ex

Starters
SP David Price* - AV Dur, 3.48 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 180 K, 121 ERA+
SP Trevor Cahill - AV Dur, 4.07 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 119 K, 102 ERA+
SP Jaime Garcia* - FR Dur, 3.53 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 98K, 113 ERA+
SP Bronson Arroyo - AV Dur, 4.21 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 127 K, 100 ERA+
SP Brandon Beachy - VG Dur, 3.91 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 86K, 104 ERA+

Pen
CL Matt Belisle - AV Dur, 3.71 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 7.30K/9IP, 126 ERA+
RHSU Yoshi Tateyama - AV Dur, 3.53 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 8.29K/9IP, 128 ERA+
RHSU Joel Peralta - AV Dur, 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 7.89K/9IP, 117 ERA+
LHSU Brian Fuentes* - FR Dur, 3.42 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 9.72K/9IP, 122 ERA+
MR Bobby Jenks - AV Dur, 3.69 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 8.39K/9IP, 121 ERA+
MR Joel Hanrahan - AV Dur, 3.57 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, 11.08K/9IP, 113 ERA+

With unearned runs added in and the new, lower league ERA basis I'm hoping to allow about 4.5 runs per game or 729 RA over 162 games. Still waiting on a projection for Marc Kroon who could bump Hanrahan or Peralta to the bench.

Plugging the numbers into the Pythag. expectation I'm getting a .569 winning percentage or roughly 92 wins. Might not be enough for the WC.
