Here's an ignorant question -

What does a GM for minor league teams do? I would have to imagine personal moves (outside of administrative staff) are limited by the big club. I've just never really considered the role of minor league GMs before.
2008-2023 Mets: 1,054-1,223...463%
2006-2008 Rockies: 242-244...498%

IBC Total: 1,296-1,467...469%
2022: lost WC
2023: lost WC

Brilliant promotional idea: manager for a game GM contest. Fans can write in as to why they deserve to manage the team, all expenses paid trip and one of us wins each year. Then when a big league job opens, we have legitimate minor league managing experience. I need the inside track for when the Cards finally can Matheny so I'd appreciate being the first guy to win this contest. Why have power if you're not going to abuse it to help your friends?

Totally on board.. rig the results. Shit.. how about once a month? You have your first 29 winners lined up if interested Z.

Bryan Price's days are numbered too.

If IBC GMs get a shot at managing a AAA team I don’t think we’ll ever have a problem filling slots again

Gentlemen...some sad news on this front, but happy news overall.

The best part of all of this is I am engaged. She's amazing...I'm beyond lucky. Want to make sure that stays in perspective.

The tough part is that I had to turn down the Aces position. Lauren has two kids and had in her divorce agreement that she could take the children wherever she wanted with two months notice. Two weeks before I was to leave, Lauren's ex ambushed us with his intent to keep the kids in the area (not taking custody, mind you). Texas is very tough on family law like this, and we found out the judge would rule in his favor. I'll be in Houston for the foreseeable future.

I'm going to start my business back up, and do a lot of work in soccer and baseball...but I was so excited for that position. Apologies for any hopes I got up...but my relationships with Reno are excellent, so a meet up can certainly occur!

Thats a bummer man, but if she's the one then that's probably the right call. There are other jobs. Wishing you the best Z.

Tough break...but you are saying there is now a chance that one of the 29 of us can apply for that open spot and you will provide a reference ;)

Fairly certain there was some apparently authorized "dibs" system in place. I think Aaron is the next GM

Congrats on the engagement! Bummer about the Aces, but I always thought you were settling for AAA when you belong in the show anyways  Luhnow sucks, you should take his job.
