2012 Playoff Awards

Even though the NLDS doesn't award an MVP, the Pirates would like to recognize Allen Craig for his role in helping the Pirates advance in five games over the Washington Nationals.

Craig hit .389/.450/.611, going 7-for-18, with one home run, four runs scored and five RBI.

Our NLCS MVP is starting pitcher Adam Wainwright. Wainwright started two games, going 1-0 in two starts. Waino pitched 14 innings, allowing just two unearned runs, giving up 12 hits while walking 2 and striking out 14.

Craig made a case for NLCS MVP (.308/.308/.615, 2 HR, 6 RBI), but the nod goes to Wainwright.

Finally, the World Series MVP goes to Matt Holliday. Pittsburgh's power display was the difference in the World Series, and Holliday played a big role in that. Holliday hit .318/.375/.818 in the five World Series games, belting three homers and two doubles, while driving in 12 of Pittsburgh's 40 World Series runs.

Holliday has been with the team in 2010, and is one of the longer-tenured members of the Pirates.
