2020-21 Pirates Winter Activity & Review

Post by Cardinals »

Our most unique season ever in IBC in 2020, with no injuries at all for the first half of the season. We picked up another NL Central title, but it was the tightest race in awhile with Bishop's Cubs right on my heels all year.

We were able to avenge our 2019 NLDS loss to the Cubs by winning in five games in 2020, and captured our eighth pennant. But once again, the Pirates fell short to the Yankees in the World Series as the race to 5 quickly became the race to 6.

It was a good season for Pittsburgh but the offense just wasn't there to get two more wins. We'll try to add more offense this winter.

One of the team's strengths this year was the bullpen, but in the final week of the season, Ken Giles and Carlos Martinez both hit the IL. Giles will be out until 2022, but losing both of them for the playoffs really put strain on the rotation.
