Rockies look to learn from 2007, write history in 2008.

The Rockies were able to jump right into their offseason objective with successfull deals that has netted them offensive talents such as Jason Bay & Ryan Spilborghs, while nabbing up and coming closer Joakim Benoit.

Another objective of the Rockies going into the offseason was to add some youth into the farm. They've been able to complete deals to add the young arms of Kyle McCulloch, Kevin Whelan, Donald Veal & Chase Wright.

"We're excited with how the offseason has kicked off", says GM John Anderson. "We're able to bring out core group back next season, but also refresh the system with some new faces".

The Rockies fell two games short of reaching the postseason in 2007, but were able to stay competitive to the end. "We did a lot of things right in 2007. We've never had the most talented team on the block, but we were able to stay in the thing to the end, by not making mistakes", says Anderson. "Our team struck out the least amount of times in the IBC, and when you're putting the ball in play, your creating the opportunity for something to happen".

The Rockies have a lot to smile about looking forward to 2008. Their GM, John Anderson, brought 4 out of 5 teams that he managed in 2007 to the postseason, including 2 World Series appearances, and one championship (BCMBL). They also should be able to count on solid projections from staff ace Oliver Perez + Shawn Hill, and hope for bounce back years from Jason Jennings & Clay Hensley.

"Our offense should score, our pitchers should pitch, and our defense should catch...When you add those things up, and keep the mistakes to a minimum, you should win a lot of games" says Anderson.
