I don't know. I'd take two probably top 50 prospects from any draft with a normal allotment of picks, especially picking 30th. And he has pretty consistently gotten exactly one huge stud, Hamels, Markakis, Brignac, Garza and Anderson in those five drafts, with Headley and Adam Jones a couple of years and three decent role players in 04.

The only things I wish I'd changed were not cutting Adam Jones and Scott Lewis. I wanted a SS of the future and that's what Jones played in high school, but when he got moved to CF I stupidly cut him because I had a major clue for Tony Giarratano, who I think would be a starting SS right now had his career not been derailed by injuries. I never thought Scott Lewis would overcome the injury bug because he was hurt a ton in college and barely pitched his first couple years in the minors

Lewis and Jones are two of my dumbest cuts as well, but even dumber b/c I picked up both of those guys after you dropped them, hung onto them each for a while, then dropped them right before they busted out (to diff. degrees) and shot up in value. Good thing Joel Guzman and his tools enjoyed one of my roster spots for like 4 years but I couldn't find a way to stick with Jones. Can't win 'em all I guess (or any sometimes).

2023 GM Totals: 1780 W - 1460 L | 0.549 wpct | 89-73 (avg 162 G record)

I can add cutting Alex Cobb to pick up Freddy Guzman to be a pinch runner for September 2009 to my list of stupidity

My complete draft history.

Best Pick: Freddie Freeman with the last pick of the 4th round in 2007. Struggled in the GCL after getting drafted in the 2nd, that's the only way I can figure that he fell that far.

Worst Pick: How about the entire 2011 draft? Geez, miss on 5 first rounders from blowing up my team in a very deep draft. Talked myself out of George Springer (cause I had Bubba why take another OF) and Jose Fernandez (every report I read said he'd end up in the pen).

Most Frustrating: 2010 even though I hit on Walker and Velazquez. I was going to take Matt Harvey and was deciding between him and Sale. Talked it over with JP and talked myself into Sale since he was supposed to be the best HS bat in the draft and Harvey had injury red flags. All he did was throw change at strippers in Bowling Green and get suspended for drugs. Took Luis Heredia late in the first because I'd completely forgotten about Carlos Martinez. I could've drafted almost an entire damn rotation that draft and had Carlos/Harvey/Walker/Velazquez
