At this point in time (prior to the release of the ZiPs) the probable 25 man active roster and starting line-up would appear to be as follows:

CF - Cedric Mullins# (BA Int #15, BA Eas #13) .235/.312/.359; .289/.346/.472, 12 HRs, 21 SBs (AAA/AA)
2B - Cesar Hernandez# .253/.356/.362, 15 HRs, 19 SBs
RF - Lonnie Chisenhall* .321/.394/.452 & .286/.412/.607 (AAA/AA)
DH - Daniel Palka* .240/.294/.484, 27 HRs
3B - Michael Chavis (BA BOS #2) .298/.381/.538 (AAA/AA/SS)
LF - Andrew Toles* .233/.281/.300 & .306/.345/.461 (AAA)
SS - Tim Anderson .240/.281/.406, 20 HRs, 26 SBs
1B - Matt Davidson .228/.319/.419, 20 HRs
.C - Kevan Smith .292/.348/.380 & .268/.331/.411 (AAA)

Bench:

.C - Chance Sisco* .181/.288/.269 & .242/.344/.352 (AAA)
1B - Bobby Bradley* .224/.308/.466, 27 HRs (AAA/AA)
UT IF/COF - Charlie Culberson .270/.326/.466, 12 HRs
CF/COF - Travis Jankowski* .259/.332/.346, 24 SBs & .363/.452/.450 (AAA)
COF - Avisail Garcia .236/.281/.438, 19 HRs & .360/.429/.840 (AAA)

Likely to see some platooning at the Catcher and 1B positions ...

Rotation:

Kyle Freeland* 2.85 ERA, 173/70 K/BB (202.1 IP), 1.25 WHIP
Brad Keller 3.08, 96/50 (140.1), 1.30
Jordan Montgomery* 3.62, 23/12 (27.1), 1.35
Joe Musgrove 4.06, 100/23 (115.1), 1,18 & 4.58, 17/2 (17.2), 1.08 (AAA/AA/Hi-A)
Zach Davies 4.77, 49/21 (66.0), 1.33 & 4.40, 49/21 (66.0), 1.28 (AAA/AA/Lo-A)

Though in reality with Montgomery not likely to see action in the first half of the season I will have to find a SP among the following pitchers who should all have ZiPs in 2019:

Peter Lambert (BA Eas #9) 3.28, 106/27 (148.1), 1.21 (AAA/AA)
Kyle 17-Wright (BA Sou #7) 4.50, 5/6 (6.0) & 1.67; 3.46, 133/51 (138.0), 1.48 (AAA/AA)
Dane Dunning (BA Sou #15) 2.71, 100/26 (86.1), 1.19 (AA/Hi-A)
Emilio Vargas 2.88, 170/49 (143.2), 1.20 (AA/Hi-A)

Or maybe Lorenzen or Woodruff will get a decent SP ZiPs projection ...

Bullpen:

CL - Nate Jones 3.00, 32/15 (30), 1.43
LHSU - Richard Bleier* 1.93, 15/4 (32.2), 1.22
Paul Fry* 3.35, 36/15 (37.2), 1.27 & 3.19, 57/15 (42.1), 1.11 (AAA/AA)
RHSU - … Scott Oberg 2.45, 57/12 (58.2), 0.97 & 1.65, 16/3 (16.1), 1.04 (AAA/Hi-A)
Chaz Roe 3.58, 53/16 (53.1), 1.01 & 0.00, 4/0 (2.0), 0.00 (AA)
LR/MU - Michael Lorenzen 3.11, 54/34 (81.0), 1.38 & 0.00, 3/1 (4.0), 0.50 (AA)

The wild card is Brandon Woodruff 3.61, 47/14 (42.1), 1.18; 4.04, 68/32 (71.1), 1.39 (AAA) who could be the fifth SP or could end up in the bullpen as a RHSU or LR/MU depending on his ZiPs projection.

With the following RP also rostered it will be the first time I am not using the ZiPs bidding process to fill my bullpen:

Travis Bergen* 0.95, 74/15 (56.2), 1.01 (AA/Hi-A)
Adam Conley* 4.09, 50/18 (50.2), 1.09 & 5.175, 25/14 (40.0), 1.47 (AAA)
Silvino Bracho 3.19, 34/12 (31.0), 1.19 & 4.46, 52/8 (34.1), 1.37 (AAA)

Quick thoughts …

While Pat doesn't need to worry about the IBC White Sox in 2019 I do feel this is my best squad in a few years, - especially on the pitching side. Freeland has matured into an Ace and there is some decent young pitchers following him. Again, my bullpen is the best it has been in years. With the exception of possibly Chavis (who was better defensively in his half season this year), the starting line-up represents a very stable D with a few guys sure to grade out as VG or EX and none as PR. A decent power/speed blend with some guys unfortunately OBP challenged. Bench is versatile and should be supportive.

Curiosity factor will be how Lorenzen grades out as PH (this season he hit .290/.333/.710 with 4 HRs, 2 BBs and 1 sacrifice hit in 34 PAs) and if Davidson grades out as a RP (this season he faced 11 batters with 0.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 2.83 FIP. [According to Scott Merkin of whitesox.com, Davidson will continue working on realizing his dream of pitching this offseason. The Sox will allow Davidson to work on his pitching this offseason at the team’s training complex in Glendale, Ariz. Davidson isn’t guaranteed to be a part of the Sox pitching staff in 2019 according to Merkin, but he will get his chance to be evaluated for his pitching this offseason.]
